Established in 1922, DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish non-governmental organisation whose’action is rights-based. Established in CAR since 2015, DCA provides assistance to the poorest communities in conflict and post-conflict situations through its’Action Humanitaire Programme «Safe Communities » <TAG1> : light Weapons and Small Calibres Risk Education (SALW), War Remains and Explosives (REG) ; Reduction of Armed Violence (ARV) and peacebuilding & Social Psycho Support (RMA); distribution of non-food and household goods (NFI), Conditional and unconditional cash (food vouchers, etc.), distribution of seeds and tools, etc, support to Civil Society organizations for their involvement in the reform of the Security Sector (SSR).The DCA Programme in CAR is funded by DANIDA, the United Nations Peace Consolidation Fund, Echo, the European Union’; other funding is being negotiated.

DCA research 01 Assistant Project Manager experienced to participate in the development and implementation of peacebuilding and psychological support activities in the Central African Republic.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

Under the supervision of the Project Manager/Consortium, the’Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for participating in evaluations, drafting project files and budgets, and, implementation of project activities « The ways of’autonomization » on the ground, management of the’ field team, support to partners, monitoring & evaluation and reporting of current and future projects.

Purpose / purpose :

As part of the implementation of the DCA mandate in CAR and the project funded by the United Nations fund for peacebuilding « Pathways to’autonomization : Advancing the participation of marginalized youth to promote a peaceful and democratic culture in CAR », the project manager’s assistant will have the mission :

Ensure that activities can be implemented in compliance with DCA and lessor standards and standards including the’ resource optimization, and, sensitivity to gender and conflict from a peacebuilding perspective

To contribute to the provision of’guidance and technical advice in the field of peacebuilding, and, L’civic space and human rights with a focus on’improving the capacity of local NGOs and structures of young beneficiaries, ensuring accountability and transparency and strengthening their technical capacities, and, structural and organizational structure, taking into account the special needs of women and marginalized groups

Support the structures of young people in the development of local’action plans for peace

Facilitate training sessions on gender-related themes, conflict prevention, peacebuilding,’homme rights, civic space and other similar themes

Contribute to enhancing the participation of women and marginalized groups in the local peace process, promoting and popularizing youth structures through the media

Ensure the organisation of local peace initiatives (dialogues, advocacy at local and national level etc.)

Contribute to the development of concept notes, budgets,’action plans and formulate project proposals in collaboration with the other members of the DCA RCA team

Prepare and submit terms of reference, inventory, projected budgets and narrative and financial reports on project-related activities

Prepare results-based reports, lessons learned and good practices for a broader’ or’ a readjustment needed to remain relevant in context

Participate in humanitarian coordination meetings (social cohesion working groups, etc.) and workshops when relevant and beneficial to DCA in its mission and mandate

Contribute to the strengthening of visibility, communication and the establishment of accountability mechanisms of the project and DCA

Contribute to strengthening relations with partners and local and national authorities

To provide technical support and capacity building to the partners and/or staff of DCA

Supervise a field team composed of psychologist, the leaders of’teams

Ensure the monitoring, evaluation and learning of activities in collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation officer

Conduct regular field visits and plan needs assessments

Working within the framework of DCA’s fundamental values by promoting its ethics and mission statement

Perform any other peace and security task that may be assigned by DCA

FUNCTION

List of main activities :

Implementation of activities / control and supervision

In close collaboration with the Project Manager / Consortium :

Support the management of partner engagement as well as the supervision of associated personnel and ensure compliance with DCA and lessor standards and standards

Monthly / quarterly and annual planning of activities according to agreed tasks / activities

Implementation and monitoring of each stage of activities according to the rules and instructions received, in compliance with the quality and accountability rules, within the deadlines

Ensure that all tools are used and comply with a good accountability system: lists of participants, memoranda of understanding, donation certificate, database, partner files, etc.

Logistics, Human Resources and Administration :

Close coordination with national and international partner NGOs ( project manager, team leader, community mobilizers )

Monitoring of ( program, logistics, human resources / administration, finance ) procedures and ensuring that all operations are documented

Monitor the use of the monitoring tools provided

Monitoring of the quality and quantity of materials received, the reception and storage of materials and equipment supplied for service needs

Good management of resources made available to the team

Promote communication and participation of all stakeholders

Relationships :

Internal : Work closely with DCA teams and technical advisors

External : Liaise with government representatives, local NGOs and international NGOs under delegation and in very close collaboration with the Project Manager/Consortium, and, the Director of Programmes and the Head of Mission.

DURATION OF THE CONTRACT :

Type of contract : CDD

Duration: Twelve (12) month with possibility of renewal

Status of the position: the position is reserved only for candidates of Central African nationality
