The vacancy is located in Cúcuta – Norte de Santander with trips to the project’s areas of action. The position belongs to the area of family farming and inclusive markets.

Hierarchical dependence

Under the general supervision of the FAO Representative in Colombia, the Program Officer, the technical supervision of the senior specialist in Family Farming and Inclusive Markets; and direct supervision of/the project coordinator.

Field of specialization

The missionary professional in knowledge management has the following tasks and responsibilities.

Tasks and responsibilities

  •  Present a work plan in FAO format, according to the expected products in these terms of reference.
  •  Guide the pedagogical definition for the systematization of the participatory, ethnic and gender-based comprehensive strategy for the economic and productive reactivation of the cocoa chain in the Catatumbo Subregion.
  •  Identify and analyze the strategic information generated during the implementation of the FAO – MPTF agreement and the contributions of its execution to the territorial stabilization of the Catatumbo subregion, that will have economic reactivation processes for stability in the municipalities, the participation of women and men producers and the closing of gaps, with cocoa as an engine of development.
  •  Develop a systematization guide of the methodologies used, lessons learned and the achievements of the project in the subject of communications.
  •  Make visits to the territory of the Catatumbo subregion to collect the necessary information in execution of your contract.
  •  Collect base documents for project execution.
  •  Systematize the activities implemented and the results of the UNJP / COL / 142 / UNJ agreement.
  •  Guide the design of knowledge management pieces and dissemination of the results of the FAO agreement – MPTF.
  •  With the support of the FAO Communications Office in Colombia, generate a communication plan for development in the UNJP / COL / 142 / UNJ agreement.
  •  Manage the corporate image in all pieces, manuals and knowledge management and dissemination products, based on inter-institutional agreements between the partners and FAO.
  •  Coordinate the development of the products proposed in the communication plan for the development of the agreement.
  •  Develop activities proposed in the communication plan for the development of the agreement.
  •  In coordination with the FAO Colombia communications team, establish relationships with the mass media and local media for the wide dissemination of the progress and achievements of the project in charge, through pieces of dissemination of the results of the systematization of results of the FAO – MPTF agreements
  •  Support the organization and logistical coordination of own events ( forums, tours, exhibitions, press conferences and sociocultural activities, agri-food fairs, business conferences, etc. ), as applicable and assistance to events.
  •  Consolidate and manage the database of the project in charge.
  •  Participate in technical meetings of the project team.
  •  Support for the preparation of monthly, quarterly reports; as well as those of semi-annual and final advance.
  •  Promote within technical teams the generation and dissemination of good gender practices in accordance with FAO’s gender equality policy.
  •  Provide support, when required, for the coverage of missions that demand the support of the Representative’s Communications Office.
  •  Make documentation and memory construction of the project execution, from knowledge management and communication ( publication files ).
  •  Develop a systematization report for each of the components, based on the objectives that will be determined by the project.
  •  Follow up on the application of policies and procedures for the management of electronic project information.
  •  Draft, document and present reports of results of execution of the planned activities.
  •  The owner must consult, study and appropriate the Protocol for the Report of Cases of Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of Communities ( delivered by Human Management ) and report immediately, according to it, the cases that are known to you. FAO Colombia has zero tolerances for any practice of sexual exploitation and abuse.
  •  Any other work related to the project that was required by the general coordinator, that is related to nature
  •  of the charge.
  •  Timely diligence at the time of withdrawal from the organization, the charge delivery certificate and, in the event of supervisory functions, follow up on the correct delivery of the position of the personnel in charge.

THE CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUED IN ARRANGE TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Minimum requirements

  •  Professional with training in the areas of social sciences, social communication, community communication and knowledge management.
  •  Minimum experience of four ( 4 ) years in rural development projects in the Catatumbo subregion area, exchange of experiences, social participation, systematization of processes and knowledge management.
  •  Practical knowledge of Spanish ( C level ) spoken and written.
  •  Colombian nationality.
