Partnerships Development Senior Advisor (Retainer) at UNOPS

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is a United Nations body responsible for infrastructure, procurement and project management (General Assembly Resolution 65/176 of 2010). **Duty Station:**Home based .

Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and/or satisfactory performance

Type of Contract: This contract is established in the form of Contract for retention of services. This type of contract establishes an estimated number of days to work during the period. The supervisor will call the contractor to work only on the days that are necessary and will be paid for the days actually work

What will your tasks be?

The Advisor will be responsible for providing support as an expert in one or more of the following areas as required:

  • Provide high-level advice to the Head of Office, Director of the Cluster Office, the Regional Director or other personnel dedicated to the development of alliances on the possibilities of strategic positioning of UNOPS, in front of the associates potentials;
  • Advise as an expert the mapping exercise of donors and partners that cover both the humanitarian and development landscapes;
  • Contribute high-level input for the preparation of substantive summaries on specific partners, UNOPS strategic positioning and opportunities of association.

What are we looking for?

  • Advanced college degree required (master’s or equivalent) preferably in International Affairs, Economics, Business Administration, Administration Public, Political Science, International Relations or other relevant discipline.
  • A combination of a title can be accepted at a first level university (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) with 2 additional years of work experience instead of an advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent).
  • Other academic levels will be accepted as long as they are offset by relevant experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, including experience providing high-level advice on project acquisition ;
  • Solid experience in establishing partnerships with agencies of the UN, international organizations of development, governments, foundations, NGOs international or private sector organizations.
  • Fluency in the Spanish language is required.
  • Fluency in French, English or Portuguese is desirable
