Purpose of the position:
Supervise and technically supervise local health and/or nutritional staff in the implementation of prevention and nutritional management activities as defined in the project.
Main tanks and responsibilities:
General support for the actions planned by the project
- Help to make the’ inventory of nutritional units in terms of’inputs and material of Support
- Implement the activities in the field in accordance with the monthly specifications
- Implement all training activities of community staff on the various modules planned by the project coordination
- Prepare your state of logistical, administrative/financial and program needs and present it to the logistics
- Participate in all nutritional assessments and surveys (screening, screening)
- Restore the content of activities monthly on the ground
- Participate in monthly meetings of health facilities
- Write the training and’ accompanying reports of health structures
- Do the’ analysis of monthly data and monitoring of structure performance
Technical support of the activities carried out
- Prepare your field missions in coordination with the Project Manager
- Support nutritional units in the implementation of their daily tasks
- Contribute to the implementation of management tools and their traceability
- Carry out joint supervision with the BCZ in relation to nutritional activities in health zones
- Provide technical support to staff of health facilities on essential nutrition actions in each health zone
- Helping the nutritional units to manage the stocks of’ inputs for the management of malnutrition
- Assist nutrition units in the preparation of consumption and control reports for inputs
- Train health personnel with the’ support of educational materials
- Participate in the compilation of statistics from nutritional units
- Disseminate in collaboration with health personnel good practices in nutrition and health through various identified communication channels
- Facilitate the’adoption and’adaptation of field recommendations
- Monitoring and evaluating the activities of’nutrition education
- Assist health workers in the preparation of monthly’activity reports
- Quantify and distribute the material necessary for the functioning of the nutritional units
- Support the implementation of the’approach PB family
- Raise awareness among health providers and communities on the prevention and barrier measures of COVID-19 disease
- Support the’ identification and listing of local products and the’ elaboration of local recipes for culinary demonstrations
- Support nutritional activities at the community level (screening, follow-up of Recos and Moms PB, support group ANJE, Home visits, etc.)
- Organize regular meetings with community leaders and organize social mobilization sessions
- Support health providers in the development of monthly input orders
- Support the organisation of nutritional care at Community level
- Support capacity building of community leaders of CAC Recos
- Monitor cases of transfers from UNS to UNTA and UNTI
Efficient nutritionist operation
- Support the project manager in the execution of these tasks
- Circulate information useful for project management
- Ensure proper management of the equipment made available to them
- Adhere and comply with AVSI internal regulations
- Do all other tasks requested by project coordination
Essential requirements:
- Have a Diploma in Nutrition / Public Health ( Bac + 3 / Bac + 5 ).
- Good experience in emergency nutrition, the PCIMA approach and in rapid nutrition assessments.
- Have experience on simplified PCIMA approaches ;
- Good knowledge of the PB Family approach ;
- Good knowledge of the ANJE
- Have at least 3 three years of experience in a nutrition program.
- Have a sense of responsibility and professionalism.
- Have a good ability to work in a team.
- Have a good and effective communication skills.
- Good knowledge of the’ intervention area
Skills and experience required:
- Creativity, a sense of’initiative and autonomy in work.
- Willingness to motivate and support teams, good team spirit’.
- NGO experiences essential, Ability to work in an unstable political/security context.
- Working capacity under pressure and autonomously.
- Mastery of french ;
- Local language proficiency is an asset (Swahili)
- Have the ability to drive a motorcycle.
- Mastery of the’computer tool (software Ms Office).
- Perfect mastery of work tools such as MS Windows and MS Office software (Excel, Word, etc,
- Ability to work under pressure and in unstable areas ;
