Founded in 1922, DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish rights-based non-governmental organization. Established in CAR since 2015, DCA provides assistance to the most deprived communities in conflict and post-conflict situations through its Humanitarian Action Program “Safer Communities”: education on the risks of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW). ), Remnants and Explosives of War (REG); Reduction of Armed Violence (RVA) and peacebuilding & Psychosocial Support, Income Generating Activities (AGR); distribution of non-food and household goods (NFI), conditional and unconditional Cash (food coupons, etc.), distribution of seeds and tools, support to Civil Society organizations for their involvement in Security Sector Reform (RSS). The DCA Program in CAR is funded by DANIDA, the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, Echo; other financing is currently being negotiated.

DCA is looking for 01 experienced National Project Coordinator for the project based in Sibut.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Under the supervision of the Program Director (Head of Programs), the National Project Coordinator will be in charge of participating in evaluations, drafting project files and budgets, implementing field activities, managing and monitoring projects. budgets, team management, support for partners, monitoring & evaluation and reporting of current and future projects.

As part of the implementation of the DCA mandate in CAR and the “Strengthening resilience and local capacities for peace in CAR” project:

  • Ensure the relevance and overall execution of the project, the achievement of results, compliance with the norms and standards of DCA, the donor and the clusters, including optimization of resources, sensitivity to gender and conflicts with a view to peacebuilding
  • Contribute to the provision of guidance and technical advice in terms of caring for survivors of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence, consolidating social cohesion, with an emphasis on improving local actors in order to ensure accountability and transparency and strengthen their technical, structural and organizational capacities taking into account the particular needs of women and marginalized groups
  • Support health actors (health structures, psychosocial advisors) and local social cohesion mechanisms for better care and inclusion of survivors
  • Facilitate training sessions on themes related to gender, prevention of sexual violence, conflict, peacebuilding and all other similar themes
  • Contribute to enhancing the participation of survivors in the socio-economic activities of communities
  • Contribute to the development of concept notes, budgets, action plans and formulate project proposals in collaboration with other members of the DCA RCA team
  • Prepare and submit terms of reference, inventory, forecast budgets and narrative and financial reports on activities related to the project
  • Prepare reports focused on results, lessons learned and good practices with a view to wider application or necessary readjustment to remain relevant in the context
  • Participate in humanitarian coordination meetings (social cohesion working groups, etc.) and workshops when relevant and beneficial for DCA in its mission and mandate
  • Contribute to strengthening visibility, communication and the establishment of project accountability and DCA mechanisms
  • Contribute to strengthening relationships with partners and local and national authorities
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to partners and/or DCA staff
  • Manage and monitor the budget to avoid overspending and underspending and comply with DCA and lessor procedures and directives
  • Ensure monitoring, evaluation and learning of activities in conjunction with the monitoring and evaluation manager
  • Carry out regular field visits and evaluations
  • Work within DCA’s core values ​​by promoting its ethics and mission statement
  • Perform any other tasks related to peace and security that may be assigned by DCA

ROLES & RESPONSABILITES :

Implementation of activities / control and supervision:

  • Manage partner engagement as well as supervision of associated staff and ensure compliance with DCA, donor and cluster norms and standards
  • Monthly/quarterly and annual planning of activities based on agreed tasks/activities
  • Implementation and monitoring of each stage of activities according to the rules and instructions received, in compliance with quality and accountability rules, in compliance with deadlines
  • Ensure that all tools are used and comply with a good accountability system: lists of participants, protocols of agreement, donation certificate, database, partner files, etc.
  • Update of activity planning, monitoring and reporting tools (Project Monitoring Follow-Up, Monthly Reports etc.)

Logistics, Human Resources and Administration:

  • Close coordination with national and international NGO partners (project manager, team leader, community mobilizers)
  • Monitoring procedures (program, logistics, human resources/administration, finances) and ensuring that all operations are documented
  • Track usage of provided tracking tools
  • Monitoring the quality and quantity of materials received, reception and storage of materials and equipment provided for service needs
  • Good management of resources made available to the team
  • Promote communication and participation of all stakeholders

Relations :

Internal: Work closely with DCA teams and technical advisors

External: Liaise with government representatives, local NGOs and international NGOs under delegation and in very close collaboration with the Consortium Coordinator, the Program Director and the Head of Mission.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in project management law or other suitable field
  • Have proven leadership experience
  • Fluent French and Sango with great writing skills
  • Experience working with international organizations.
  • Experience with projects integrating peacebuilding and protection, livelihoods, advocacy, professional training is an asset
  • Experience working with national organizations (implementing partner) required;
  • Be able to work in a team;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Be of Central African nationality.

Type of contract: Renewable fixed-term contract
