Context This offer from € ™ employment sâ € ™ is part of a project in € ™ technical assistance on trade in services, implemented by the United Nations Economic Commission for “ € Africa ™ CEA ( in collaboration with the governments of African countries bà ) nà © beneficiary. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to unlocking the potential of trade in services in Africa, especially with a view to the effective implementation of the free trade area of the African continental “ ZLECAf ©. A major challenge to this point is linked to the GA1> to the © © © € assessment of the contribution of the service sector to the economy and to the understanding ™ heension of the complexity © of chaî regional and global value of services, to © là © essentials for the development of the service sector.The project aims to strengthen the capacities of national institutional to measure the added value of © e gà © nà © rà © e by the value chains of regional © services, To © assess the extent to which the development of the service sector could improve © improve international trade in goods and services and strengthen © © intà € integration of sector in chaà ™regional © CVR ( and global ) CVG ( value, and to support the development of the public policy framework, n ) necessary for © sustainable development of the sector. This project in € ™ technical assistance follows a project near © cà © ent of the United Nations Account for Dà © development ( UNCL) linked © to trade services in Africa, which has been implemented jointly by ECA and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development © development © UNCTAD “) © UNCTAD ©.The aforementioned UNCL project © sâ € ™ was focused on © 6 © African countries ( notably Gambia, Mali, Ethiopia, Kenya, Togo and Nigeria ) and targeted services ( s as follows : transport services ( Ethiopia and Kenya ); tourist services ( Gambia and Mali ) Togo and Nigeria (. Additional information on the UNCLOS project is available on the knowledge sharing web platform for this project at © € following address : https://knowledge.uneca.org/stp/fr The current project is focused © on financial services in Burkina Faso and Burundi. It responds to requests for © € technical assistance submitted by the governments of these countries to ECA, following the success of the UNCL pilot project. It will include among others,national institutional capacity building activities in trade in services and in added value exchanges © e © EVA ©>; collection and collection © ( analysis of relevant data ; the realization of © € ™ quantitative and qualitative studies on the value chains of financial services ; and the € ™ © development of national action plans for strengthening national financial services sectors and integrating them into regional value chains and global. Tà ¢ tasks and responsibility © s Under € orientation gà ™ nà © rale of the project manager and direct supervision of the project managers © sign © s of the CEA and the focal point of the Government of Burkina Faso, the national consultant (s) ( e ) e ( exà ) will cut the following tasks 🙁 i ) participate in a training seminar for trainers focused on © methodologies of © © analysis of EVA and trade in services ; ( ii ) co-organize and animate as € ™ instructor, a national training seminar to develop the skills of decision-makers and other national stakeholders to measure the value chains of services and formulate policies in the sector financial. The ( the ) consultant ( e ) will work in close collaboration with an international consultant © expert in trade in services and EVA (, another national consultant ( spà © specialist in the financial services sector ), the focal point of the government of Burkina Faso, and the © ECA project team during the preparation of training material. The seminar will be held in Burkina Faso.( iii ) undertake data collection and processing work © es, and carry out an in-depth analysis of the value chains linked to the financial sector of Burkina Faso, according to the mà © methodologies learned during € ™ a preliminary seminar sà © training course for trainers, working at © closely with the national focal point of the project, the stakeholders national concerned © es, the international consultant and the second national consultant. Exchanges with the international consultant will be done remotely and according to a mutually agreed schedule ; ( iv ) co-organize and animate la € ™ national workshop for the validation of reports from € ™ studies and the plan from © € national action, in collaboration with the government focal point and the € ™ © ECA project team; ( v ) participate in an international multi-stakeholder workshop on € ™ exchanges dâ © € expà ™ riences,including among others the other countries bà © nà © beneficiaries of this project ; ( vi ) rà © responds to other ad hoc requests within the framework of this project and interacts regularly with the © ECA project team ;
Qualifications / special skillsâ € ¢ university graduate higher than © at least one Master ( in ) economics, statistics, or in related fields ; a license diploma could be accepted © in conjunction with 2 years © additional years from € ™ expà © professional experience ; â € ¢ capacity © proven to work with different times © data analysis methods ©; â © © good control of processing and processing software € ¢ 1> data analysis such as TAG, Stata, SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, Excel; â € ¢ have knowledge of trade in services; â € ¢ experience in training/capacity building © s in Burkina Faso or Africa is desirable; have at least 5 years of professional experience in quantitative research, including in the collection and the € ™ data analysis © es ;a license diploma could be accepted © in conjunction with 2 years © additional years from € ™ expà © professional experience ;
LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the Secretariat of the United Nations © € UN. For this position, the French mastery is essential. Practical knowledge of € ™ English is desirable.
