Mission France: Nurse Projet Ile-de-France H/F At Doctors Without Borders


Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened : mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. The French section is present in about thirty countries.

As part of’a replacement, we are looking for a Nurse Ile-de-France Project.

Context :

MSF has three activity components on its Ile-de-France project :

· Day care for unaccompanied minors ( MNA ): access to legal, social support, access to somatic and mental health care, guidelines towards common law ), located at Pantin ( 93 ) ;

· A accommodation system, boys and girls, with educational support, located in Sevran ( 93 ) ;

· A Mobile Clinic made up of a multidisciplinary team ( medico-social ).

Objectives of the position :

· Make an assessment of the state of health of unaccompanied minors ( boys and girls ) of the program, offer them nursing follow-up as well as support to ensure the quality and continuity of care.

· Orient towards common rights structures for acts of prevention and / or medical care.

Main responsibilities :

Care for young people :

· Evaluate the’ state of health and identify the health needs of beneficiaries seen in daytime reception.

· Participate in the decision of’inclusion in the reinforced monitoring by the’ multidisciplinary team of Pantin of the most vulnerable young people.

· Make a nursing diagnosis and implement the appropriate actions.

· Organize the care of unaccompanied minors throughout their intra and extra-hospital care journey and ensure follow-up (taking DRV, verification of the understanding of treatment management, communication with the staff of the care services in hospitals, CMS..).

· To work in close collaboration with the identified health structures (referencing, health coverage, etc.).

· Work with the’ multidisciplinary team to ensure a global care (psychologist, social worker, cultural mediator and lawyer).

· (discuss any specific problem with the head of the somatic pole and the’ multidisciplinary team (victims of violence, victim of torture, specific orientation of girls..).

· Develop and organize a dynamic of’health education by developing individual and collective sessions, informing about the functioning of common rights mechanisms for’access to health.

· (Knowledge, promote, implement and follow at all times the universal hygiene standards /precautions of’.

Reporting :

· Execute the procedures and administrative documents (to inform the database and medical tools e.g., follow-up of complex cases).

· Compile medical data entered during consultations and participate in the’ development of the monthly Medical Sitrep.

Communication & Advocacy :

· Participate in the project’s testimonial and communication activities.

· Report problematic situations and cases by informing its hierarchical superior before taking any decision outside the framework set previously.

· Document issues not yet listed in order to improve the quality of medical care and’orientation (part of health advocacy).

Multidisciplinary :

· Participate in institutional or inter-associative meetings related to the medical/paramedical care of unaccompanied minors.

· 2 Identify health facilities that can accommodate unaccompanied minors.

Profile sought :

Education :

· Nurse diploma recognized essential.

· Knowledge of the French health system, the protection of the’female, the law of foreigners, the devices of’ reception and care of unaccompanied minors.

Experience :

Two years minimum in a similar paramedical position, desirable experience with MSF or other NGOs.

Languages : French and English compulsory.

Status : Fixed term contract (CDD) 12 months, renewable.

Conditions :

2877,04€ monthly gross over 13 months. 22 days of RTT per year. Complementary health care 100% supported by Doctors Without Borders. Titles restaurants of’a face value of 11.00€ (60% support by MSF). Support for 50% of the public transport ticket or equivalent.
