WHAT WE DO

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs of, drinking, eating, s’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, of, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, etc,some volunteers..- intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

Since March 2020, SI operates in France in five territories. Our projects are aimed at the public living in precarious habitats such as slums or squats and having in particular limited access to basic services, in terms of DRINKING WATER’, sanitation, etc, and’access to the products of’hygiene of first necessity.

If the rights to’eau and’ainseissement are recognized by the’ONU since 2010,’access to these basic services is not considered to date as a fundamental right in France. Through advocacy activities, SI aims to achieve the recognition and effective application of’a right to drinking’au in France.

With this in mind, the SI strategy consists of :

1) to support local actors in their search for concrete solutions, by proposing to IMPROVE the sanitary conditions of sites, in particular via the installation of drinking water services,’ sanitation infrastructures, etc, distributions of’ hygiene products and work on the reduction of risks ;

2) to provide a plea (A) for the transformation of the legal framework of the right to’eau in France and (B) the implementation of an effective public policy, universal and sustainable for access to the’eau for all and all in France.

JOB DESCRIPTION

L’ASSistant JURIDIQUE de la Mission France carries out its functions under the Field Coordinator of the Atlantic zone and in functional link with the Lawyer in charge of Advocacy of the Mission. Its tasks are to support the’analysis of the right to’ and to’ sanitation and the popularization of this same right with the beneficiaries of IS in collaboration with the technical teams EHA and Community Mobilization on the ground through a pilot project on Angers.

Main responsibilities :

In collaboration with the Community Mobilizer and under the supervision of the field coordinator, Ensure the deployment of the extension project of the Right to’eau « Innovative mobilization against precariousness in water ». This project will be supervised and supported by the technical department of the Mission : Advocacy lawyer and community mobilization referee. He/she will be in charge of’ supporting the development of’actions of legal extension for’access to rights related to’eau and sewerage and in particular :

Develop a program, media and its content for the ; popularization of the right to’eau ;
Test this method and its tools through a pilot project in Angers
Accompanying the’allocation base to bring out local issues of the rights to’eau and’sanitation internally and externally.

Details of tasks :

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT « Innovative mobilization against water insecurity »

In collaboration with the Community Mobilizer and under the supervision of the field coordinator, Ensure the deployment of the project of’access to the right « Innovative mobilization against precariousness in water »

SUPPORT TO THE ATLANTIC ZONE

Writing and production of internal and external documents (returns of’ experiments, publications, advocacy documents)
Analysis of secondary data (publication and reports)
Participate in the weekly and monthly meetings of the Base and the various services worked ;

MONITORING, RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

Identify opportunities for public, associative and private partnerships in the field of’access to rights ;
Building a legal extension project ;
Legal and jurisprudential watch on the right to’eau and’sanitation in France.

JURIDICAL

Assist the National Coordinator and Advocacy Officer on the development of legal extension projects for beneficiaries
Support for the creation of’a network of associative partners to promote the feedback of’information on degraded areas or situations, in particular on its intervention area
Assist the Lawyer in the legal actions of SI and its partners for the right to’au in France
Participate in inter-associative meetings with partners of the area to promote the project « Innovative mobilization against water insecurity »
Provide support in its field of competence to the’ set of areas of’intervention according to requests.

YOUR PROFILE

BAC level +4 minimum, with a higher education in law, political science, social science or public policy
With a strong interest and knowledge on the problems of precariousness and poor housing in France
Good editorial skills,’analysis and writing
A desire to work as a team
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (good knowledge of’Excel) ;
Desired experience in legal training
Good synthesis and relational skills
Proactivity and critical thinking
Organization & anticipation
Ability to work under pressure
Commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Position based at the offices of the Mission France de Solidarities International with field trips

6 Months contract WITH MANDATORY INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT

Gratification: 4,70 euros/hour
The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
