PRESENTATION OF ASMAE – SISTER EMMANUELLE ASSOCIATION

Asmae – Association Sœur Emmanuelle is a French international solidarity NGO specializing in child development. Independent, secular and apolitical, it is open to all. Created in 1980 by Sister Emmanuelle on the basis of her experience with ragpickers in the slums of Cairo, Asmae continues its action while respecting the values ​​and methods inherited from its founder: listening and proximity, pragmatism, taking into account differences, professionalism and reciprocity.

Asmae’s action aims to support vulnerable children and their families through tailor-made, long-term support from local actors working in the fields of education and child protection. Its vision “A just world which guarantees children to live and grow with dignity with their families and their environment to become free women and men, actors of society”, is broken down into four missions:

  • Promote child development through a global approach. For this, Asmae also works to support families while taking the environment into account;
  • Strengthen the capacity of local child development actors, strengthen synergies between them and maximize their social impact;
  • Defend the cause of the child through awareness-raising and advocacy;
  • Experiment, swarm and disseminate.

Today Asmae supports and accompanies 39 partner associations, with which it co-constructs, monitors and evaluates projects in the fields of education and child protection in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Lebanon, Madagascar and the Philippines.

THE MISSION

The management and accounting officer has two main missions:

A. ACCOUNTING

General Accounting :

  • Entering accounting transactions,
  • Accounting entry of the collection,
  • Pointing and lettering of writings,
  • Classification and organization of documentation,
  • Preparation of inventory, provision and account justification work for the annual closing.

Auxiliary accounting (customers/suppliers):

  • Recording and monitoring of invoicing operations,
  • Control of collections and reminder of non-payments,
  • Entering and preparing invoice payments,
  • Control and entry of expense reports,
  • Accounting for cash transactions,
  • Monitoring of investments,
  • Entry of fixed assets and depreciation.

Cost accounting :

  • Participation in the definition and configuration of analytical accounting adapted to the needs of financial analysis and reporting,
  • Control of analytical assignment,
  • Editing analysis reports,

Treasury :

  • Reconciliation of banks and credit unions,
  • Optimization of payments,
  • Monitoring bank accounts and investments.

B. INTERNAL CONTROL AND LIFE OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT

  • Participate in the development and implementation of administrative and financial procedures and ensure their application within its scope,
  • Assist the division in its preparation of internal audits,
  • Participates in the development of service action plans,
  • Participates in department meetings,
  • Participate in department emergencies in the event of a peak in activity or absence.

Other complementary activities may be integrated, provided that they are linked to the missions linked to the position.

THE PROFILE

Training / Knowledge:

  • Minimum Bac+2 training: BTS or DUT in accounting
  • Fluent level of English in a professional setting
  • Master and have practiced general accounting and a good understanding of analytical accounting
  • Have a good knowledge of the French and associative accounting plan
  • Excellent command of Excel and practice of management information systems

Experience :

  • 2/3 years minimum experience
  • Experience of at least 2 years in a similar position in an international solidarity NGO with experience in public funding would be appreciated.
  • Knowledge of SAGE 1000 software would be a appreciated asset

PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS

  • Duration of the contract: Indefinite Duration Contract
  • Status: Employee
  • Taking up a position: as soon as possible
  • Duration of work: full-time position (37 hours/week, RTT)
  • Remuneration: between €30K and €33K gross annually, depending on profile
  • Other benefits: Mutual; restaurant tickets with a face value of €10 (60% of which covered by Asmae); reimbursement of 50% of subscriptions (sustainable mobility package); Teleworking possible for up to 3 days (according to teleworking charter)
  • Location: position based in Montreuil (93)
