Mali Acted

Since 2012, Acted has been mobilized in Mali in response to the complex crisis and the structural and cyclical challenges facing the country, with interventions that combine emergency operations and development programs. Acted ( teams today 11 international employees and 160 national employees ) supported more than ’ 1 million people in 6 regions of Mali: Ségou, Mopti, Gao, Menaka, Timbuktu and Bamako.

Main roles and responsibilities

The Country Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily security management of all Acted project premises and sites, ensuring permanent monitoring and evaluation of the country’s security situation, by referring to and implementing Acted’s technical security management guides and protocols. He / She will also advise the Country Director and the senior management team on all safety and security issues and provide appropriate training and security support.

Qualifications and skills required

• At least 2-3 years of’ field experiments in unstable area; preferably in Africa, Asia or Middle East ;
• Extensive experience in security procedures and management ;
• Established communication and organizational competence ;
• Ability to train, mobilize and manage national and international teams ;
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure ;
• Ability to work in an unstable and changing environment ;
• Be prepared to work and live in remote areas in simple conditions ;
• Ability to be creative and independent, in the field and in the office ;

Conditions

• Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies,’expertise, the level of safety and the level of experience : between 3300€ and 4500€ monthly net (before income taxes)
• Monthly cost of living allowance 300 $
• Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
• Social security, mutual ( MSH ) and repatriation assistance ( SOS International ) supported by Acted
• Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months ( to the address specified on the employment contract )
• Visa fees covered by Acted
• R&R every 3 months ( plane ticket supported up to 500 $ + additional compensation of 200 $ )
• A week of departure preparation including 3 days of safety training in immersion
• Possibility of having a 30-minute call with a consultant in taxation
