Logistics Coordinator At Action against Hunger Spain


You will contribute to ending world hunger by …

  • Ensure coordination between the logistics department and the other departments of the mission in order to provide the appropriate level of support for Action Against Hunger operations in Venezuela.
  • Ensure a correct market analysis of goods and services to guarantee the implementation of our activities in Venezuela.
  • Manage the logistics department and monitor the performance of all processes related to logistics areas. Ensure they are in line with the mission and department strategy.

The main activities you will carry out are the following:

Objective 1: Logistics coordination at the national level and the mission’s logistics team, therefore, carries out activities such as:

  • Distribution of workload and resources. Assess resources necessary for the correct implementation of activities.
  • Management and monitoring of the logistics team in creation. Support for the standardization of procedures and formats. Dissemination and implementation of the logistical procedures for Action Against Hunger
  • Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, the Charter of Principles and General Conditions of Purchases.
  • Participation in the preparation of proposals and reports to donors: Ensure that the proposals are in line with the logistics strategy and that they take into account the logistical needs and support costs of the mission.
  • Prepare, update and disseminate the purchase plan as an element of the proposal.
  • Participate in the preparation of reports to donors, including logistical aspects according to their policy (equipment, storage, fleet management).
  • Overseeing the supply chain: Implement and monitor supply chain management tools.
  • Ensure coordination with the departments involved in the supply chain.
  • Supervise the preparation of purchase plans for all projects. Prepare the mission supply plan.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external logistics processes Implement anti-fraud policy and internal control mechanisms
  • Control and analyze the logistical costs of the mission. Consolidate and analyze the base reports, in case new ones are opened. Optimize the use of resources and detect new needs.
  • Implement the organization’s archiving policy Coordinate responses to donors and / or audit at the mission level
  • Ensure the compilation and he sent the monthly reports to headquarters Communication management: Implement the organization’s communication systems Implement the organization’s ICT policy in the mission
  • Team management: Implement the team management policy in the mission; ensuring the adaptation of the equipment to the needs of the users
  • Fleet management: Plan mission movements efficiently Develop and disseminate vehicle use policy a) Develop vehicle maintenance plan b) Develop a renewal strategy of the vehicle fleet

Objective 2: Participate in the definition of the mission strategy.

Objective 3: Promote and ensure logistical collaboration and coordination with partners and partners.

  • Contribute to the selection process of local partners and validate them based on their logistics capabilities.
  • Contribute and validate the logistical part of the agreements signed with the partners.
  • Organize training for local partners and ensure monitoring of logistics activities.

Objective 4: Management of the logistics team and technical support. Define the configuration of the mission’s logistics team, ensuring the correct allocation of human resources within the mission.

  • Create and define the job descriptions of the logistics team.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of logistics personnel.
  • Ensure communication and cohesion within the department.
  • Lead the logistical briefings and debriefings of mission personnel.
  • Develop and monitor the logistics team’s action plans.
  • Provide technical support to any team member.
  • Evaluate the performance of each team member and contribute to their professional development.

Goal 5: Support for security management. Together with the Country Director, he leads the update of the country’s security plans and at the grassroots.

  • Support the Country Directorate, coordinating and monitoring that all the logistical tools of the mission’s security plan are updated and implemented in all bases.
  • Support national and expatriate personnel in the training of the security plan.
  • Participate in monitoring and analyzing the security situation in the country.
  • Prepare security reports and disseminate them to security managers at all levels.
  • Perform security briefings.
  • Ensure respect for the principles and values of ACTION AGAINST HUNGER, particularly with regard to the code of conduct and the fight against fraud, corruption, sexual abuse, abuse of power and other bad practices.

Does this description fit with you?

  • Degree in Logistics, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience.
  • Supply chain management, stock control, risk and safety management, vehicle fleet management. Knowledge of Action Against Hunger desirable. Knowledge of international donor regulations (AECID, ECHO, GAC …).
  • Previous experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in field logistics or logistics coordination in a humanitarian organization. Experience in team management and capacities to give training
  • Specific office and systems: Advanced level of Windows MS Office
  • Languages: Spanish and English proficiency.

    3. Per Diem of 215 euros for each Break trip (paid in Mission).
