The Talent Development Unit (TDU)/Office of Human Resources (OHR) is a centre of expertise that designs and delivers state of the art learning and development solutions to UNDP staff worldwide. Through the delivery of large-scale leadership development programmes tailored for key leadership roles, an extensive offering of high-quality online courses on UNDP’s core business and professional certification programmes, as well as customised development planning and career management tools, OHR/TDU enables and supports UNDP staff to build skills with a growth mindset, leveraging the power of learning across all areas of work.

UNDP’s Leadership and People Development portfolios are targeted to prepare and build the competencies of rising and senior leaders as well as wider personnel in the organization. To facilitate the management and administration of these portfolios, OHR’s Talent Development Unit is seeking to hire a Leadership and People Development Analyst to support in various leadership, people management and people development initiatives. Under the supervision of the HR Manager in the unit, the incumbent will provide the following support (excerpt): Duties and Responsibilities The selected candidate will have the following key functions:

  •  Provide programme management support to UNDP’s global Leadership Development, People Management and Capability Development portfolios.
  •  Facilitate operational support, logistics and administrative work related to the portfolio.

Specific Duties across these portfolios will include:

  •  Provide programme management support to leadership and people development programmes and initiatives in connection with preparation, design, enrollment, delivery, data management, reporting, and evaluation. We partner with a range of business schools, universities and online learning providers. The portfolios include, for example:
  •  Leadership development / executive education for e.g. Resident Representatives, Deputy Resident Representatives and Senior Managers
  •  Personal and Team Impact Programme (360° feedback and coaching)
  •  People Management Development Programmes
  •  Key functional programmes, such as HR for 2030 for HR capability building
  •  Manage training related tasks e.g. communication and marketing, participant management, logistics, coordination with vendors.
  •  Provide support in communicating effectively with programme participants throughout the learning process (emails, social platforms, etc.).

Institutional Arrangement

  •  The incumbent will report to the HR Manager – Leadership Development, TDU/Office of Human Resources. The consultant will be responsible for the fulfilment of the deliverables / outputs as specified above.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  •  Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required or
  •  A first University degree (Bachelor´s degree) in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Project Management in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  •  Master´s degree or minimum of 2 years with Bachelor´s degree of relevant experience in learning and talent development is required.
  •  Experience working in UNDP/UN agencies funds and programmes is desirable.

Language:

  •  Fluency in spoken and written English is required;
  •  Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset

Required Skills and Competencies:

  •  A high level of experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling large sets of data in excel, creating Power Point presentations in Microsoft Office and working with web-based management systems is required

Travel:

  •  No travel is expected with the duration of this contract.
