The organization
Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in 1971 by doctors and journalists and is now one of the largest independent medical emergency organizations in the world. Our teams help people in need after natural disasters in over 75 countries worldwide, during epidemics or armed conflicts – regardless of their origin, religious or political conviction.
The job description
As an intern: you are part of the ten-person « Digital Team ». The team is responsible for all digital activities of Doctors Without Borders Switzerland and belongs to the Communication and Fundraising department. Together with your German-speaking teammate in Zurich, you play all social media channels for German-speaking Switzerland, you maintain the exchange with our followers in community management and ensure, that our website and our newsletter in German are flawless. Again and again you have the opportunity to work with your seven French-speaking teammates at the headquarters in Geneva.
Your areas of responsibility
- Management of social media channels: publishing, monitoring, community management and advertising on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
- Creation of text, image and video content for various digital channels
- Publishing content on the msf.ch/de website
- Proofreading and translations in German
- Support in the implementation of digital fundraising or communication campaigns
- Observation of the latest digital trends
Your profile
- Completed training
- Excellent editorial skills in German
- You enjoy social media, use the tools effortlessly and speak the language of the various channels: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
- Knowledge of image processing is an advantage
- First experiences with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager or the willingness to acquire them
- Good oral and written English and French skills

Our internship conditions
- Place of work: Zurich
- Job start: 12. February 2024 or as soon as possible
- Ideally one year, at least 6 months
- Gross monthly wages: CHF 2000.-
