Information Intern – Communication – Medical Department At Doctors Without Borders


Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or even exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries.

We are looking for a Information Intern – Communication – Medical Department

Mission :

You will be responsible for supporting the Medical Management team in organizing the activities of the Medical Department at headquarters and particularly in the management of information and communication of medical projects.

Main responsibilities :

Support for communication and capitalization of medical information :

  • Update medical information on the MyMSF / SharePoint Medical intranet
  • Set up a Medical Newsletter for MSF land and help collect and distribute medical information
  • Participate in medical info points, help set up a programming framework and its follow-up
  • Synthesize discussions on different medico-operational themes
  • Support the creation of communication tools

In charge of organizing various events organized at headquarters

  • In coordination with the information assistant and project management of the Department, the teams, and the organizers of various events ( Coordo Week, Anti-microbio-resistance Day, oncology, Surgery-anesthesia days etc. ): follow-up of the actions of the organization sheet « red thread ».
  • Reporting writing

Support on various ad-hoc projects

  • Support and continuation of the induction project for medical coordinators, in relation to the Communication and Training departments and referents.
  • Make briefings accessible on the Tembo training platform

Reinforcement of teams from the Medical Department according to activity

  • Administrative and organizational support for management according to emergencies

Profile sought

**Training: ** Student.in international relations, project management, information-communication or event, in the 3rd year of license or in master’s.

Experiences : Professional experience in project management, information-communication or event organization would be appreciated.

Skills required :

  • Understanding of international medical and political issues.
  • Excellent sense of organization and written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work with multicultural and remote teams
  • Proactivity and autonomy
  • Analytical and synthesis spirit
  • Mastery of office software ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint ), virtual conference tools ( Teams, Zoom ).

Qualities required :

  • High interest in humanitarian aid
  • Team and cooperation spirit
  • Ability to work in an emergency and be flexible
  • Organized, methodical and conscientious.

Languages :

You are fluent in English and French, both written and oral.

Conditions :

3 to 6 months full-time internship ( or 80% ), based at headquarters in Paris. Mandatory tripartite internship agreement.

Compensation according to level of education ( from 4.83 € / h Bac + 3 to 7.17 € / hour Bac + 5 )

2 days of rest compensated per month.

Granting of days of absences with maintenance of gratification, for situations indicated in the Internship Policy ( exams, solidarity day, family events, sick leave )

Restaurant titles with a face value of 11 € ( 60% supported by Médecins Sans Frontières ).

Support for 50% of the public transport ticket.

Taking up post : As soon as possible.
