ABOUT CHAIN OF HOPE
La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and in particular children, the same chances of survival and development.
We operate in 28 countries with a global approach, focused on the child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities:
- Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly within the framework of school health programs.
- Care and surgery, to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
- Training and skills transfer to local teams thanks to our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
- Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.
POSITION AND MISSION
Under the supervision of one or more Program Coordinators, the intern will have the following missions:
A – Assist in the implementation of administrative and project monitoring tasks
Administrative and monitoring tasks:
- Preparation of letters
- Preparation of summary notes
- Writing meeting minutes
- Preparing and signing documents
- Documentary research on specific themes
Communication:
- Writing project sheets for the annual report
- Writing articles for the website
- Creation and updating of communication tools: brochures
- Internal communication between different departments
B – Support in project management
Support for project management:
- Participation in the development of terms of reference and project proposals
- Participation in the rereading of project proposals and the writing of intermediate and final reports in coordination with the donor manager
- Contribution to the implementation of project monitoring and evaluation tools
- Participation in the development of project activities
Administrative, financial and logistical monitoring of missions:
- Preparation of various letters for partners
- Preparation of various documents (partnership agreements and/or cooperation agreements in particular)
- Preparation of missions: identification of medical & paramedical experts, logistics (visas, plane tickets, accommodation, etc.) in conjunction with the purchasing/logistics department
Writing and capitalization (Program Directorate):
- Consolidation of experiences and development of standard documents allowing learning and improvement of actions
- Consolidation of monitoring and evaluation tools: sheets, database, questionnaires
- Collection of indicators and improvement of the monitoring methodology
FORMATION ET EXPERIENCE
- Master’s student in International Humanitarian Relations, Development and Cooperation, Institutes of Political Studies, …
- A first experience in project management would be appreciated, at headquarters or in particular in one of the countries where La Chaîne de l’Espoir operates.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Very good interpersonal skills, knowing how to work in a team and with multiple contacts
- Adaptability, versatility and autonomy
- Dynamism, responsiveness, resistance to stress, ability to work on multiple files simultaneously, sense of humor
- Excellent writing skills and editorial rigor (French and English), ability to analyze and synthesize
- Mastery of computer tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong motivation to work in humanitarian work and knowledge of humanitarian actors and the international cooperation environment
- Knowledge/interest in medical humanitarian actions is an asset.
CONDITIONS
- Status: Approved internship
- Position dates: July 2024, for 6 months.
- Remuneration: Compensation in force, 50% of transport (Navigo subscription)
- Meal tickets worth 10.83 euros covered at 60%
- The position is based at the headquarters of La Chaîne de l’Espoir in Paris, 56-58 rue des Morillons, 75015.
