DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

La Chaîne de l’Espoir is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its mission is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and in particular children, the same chances of survival and development. Helping the most marginalized children is more than a moral obligation, it is an essential condition for achieving the United Nations 2030 goals on children’s health and well-being.

We operate in 28 countries with a global approach, focused on the child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities:

  • Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly within the framework of school health programs.
  • Care and surgery, to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
  • Training and skills transfer to local teams thanks to our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.
  • Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

POSITION AND MISSION

Reporting to the Accounting and Payroll Manager and within the Administrative and Financial Department, the accountant ensures the reliability of accounting operations at headquarters and in the field. The accounting team is made up of 3 people.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Maintaining head office accounts

  • Processing and accounting of supplier invoices and expense reports
  • Verification, tallying and lettering of entries
  • Scheduling of payments
  • Classification and archiving of documents
  • Entry of donations after data reconciliation with the marketing department
  • Monthly entry of ticket office Excel files
  • Processing, verification and import of stock entries from Pixisoft stock management software

Integration of field accounting

  • Consistency check of accounting records of offices abroad
  • Integration into head office accounting
  • Support for field teams on general accounting issues

Monitoring the annual quota for VAT-free purchases

  • Collection of invoices from different logistics, infrastructure & equipment departments
  • Updating the tracking table
  • Establishment of certificates
  • Printing and packaging and sending to suppliers

Participation in the team’s priority files

  • ERP implementation project
  • Quarterly and annual closing work
  • Audits of annual accounts and lessor audits

Procedures, internal control and specific projects:

  • Ensures proper appropriation and application of procedures in force
  • Participation in updating accounting procedures and thinking about possible new procedures
  • Internal control on its perimeter

FORMATION ET EXPERIENCE

  • Higher education Bac + 2 accounting minimum
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience with ERP software

  • Understand the constraints of the field and headquarters
  • Taste for teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Mastery of computer tools (Excel)
  • Significant experience with ERP
  • Ability to be a source of proposals to modernize tools
  • Adherence to the humanitarian principles and ethical code of the Chaîne de l’Espoir

CONDITIONS

  • Permanent contract, executive status
  • Start date: April 2024
  • Full-time position, based at the association’s headquarters in Paris, 75015
  • Mutual insurance covered at 80%
  • Meal tickets worth 10.83 euros covered at 60%
  • Reimbursement of transport subscription up to 50%
  • Teleworking charter: 3 days/week
  • Proposed salary: 31k – 36k annual gross depending on profile and experience
