About Cesvi

Cesvi is a secular and independent association founded in Italy in 1985 that works for global solidarity and the ideal of social justice through humanitarian development actions. The same name CESVI, Cooperazione e Sviluppo (Cooperation and Development), expresses its philosophy of action, based on promoting the role of its beneficiaries in favor of their own progress, so that international aid is not reduced to temporary charitable action, but rather promotes the authentic sustainable development of the neediest populations.

Cesvi in Venezuela

Since 2019, Cesvi has been working in Venezuela with initiatives in the field of protection of children and women in high vulnerability, including survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. Starting in 2021, Cesvi began to implement projects financed by the Country Humanitarian Fund in communities in Caracas.

During 2022-24, Cesvi will implement the “ Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance project to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable people in Venezuela ”, which aims to strengthen the availability of protection services, primary health and humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable people and communities affected by the crisis. Cesvi will carry out its activities in the State of Falcon, based in Coro, and trips to other municipalities.

To meet these objectives, the formation of a high-level technical team capable of giving effective responses to the populations served during case management is required; for that purpose, Cesvi is seeking a Head of Psychosocial Care to guide and implement action plans aimed at providing a timely and effective psychosocial response to women survivors of VBG, VSBG and children, girls and adolescents at risk of protection.

Description of functions

Psychosocial care

  • Design, document and implement protocol for psychosocial care for children and adolescents at risk of protection, survivors of GBV.
  • Provide psychological first aid to people in emergency situations or when required.
  • Provide psychosocial care services in the modality that adapts to the context (face-to-face or remote) to the target population of the project, including victims of VSBG.
  • Support the psychosocial support process for leaders, leaders, and/or young people in order to strengthen their self-protection capacities and mitigate the level of risk and emotional affectation generated by risk or threat situations.
  • Develop community meetings for the provision of group psychosocial services while maintaining the correct biosecurity measures established by Cesvi.
  • Promote the mental health and psychosocial well-being of all people assisted in the framework of case management.
  • Update the databases of project beneficiaries monthly in the formats established for this purpose with their respective monitoring, (Excel and Online).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the data related to the cases received, as well as ensure that they are stored safely.
  • Guide, advise and accompany the beneficiary population of the project throughout the assistance process and link to possible support networks or territorial services.
  • Support and follow up on case management in coordination with local authorities and protection networks.
  • Support in the articulation and activation of routes of the institutional offer and in the referral of cases to specialized services provided by local actors.

Case Management

  • Contribute to the initial mapping to identify existing services available in the territory, related to protection routes, basic and specialized services, aimed at response and prevention in VBG, and those directed at NNA at risk.
  • Prepare in close collaboration with other members of the Cesvi team, a protocol for case management and routes that guarantee access to basic NNA services for victims and / or survivors of VBG.
  • Assist in the identification and planning of exit strategies and intervention plans, aimed at the beneficiary population, in the area of their competence.
  • Collaborate closely with the team, in collecting the information necessary for case management (admission form, referral form, individual care plans, follow-up reports and other useful documents for case management).

Support for Cesvi’s team

  • Train the Cesvi team to provide emotional first aid to the vulnerable population.
  • Generate tools for the emotional and professional self-care of Cesvi’s team.
  • Guide the Cesvi team and partners when required in the initial identification of cases in the field, which are subject to psychosocial and mental health care.

Others

  • Carry out and accompany the needs assessments in the area, supporting the identification of opportunities and risk factors related to the area of its competence.
  • Support, in coordination with the rest of the project team, in logistics and administration activities.
  • Prepare statistical and / or management reports according to requirements.
  • Write and send weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Support in the monitoring and monitoring of care and activities to meet the program’s indicator goals.
  • Participate in team and supervision meetings either remotely or in person depending on the context.
  • Participate in the processes of formation and exchange of experiences to which they are summoned.
  • The other functions that are assigned to him by his immediate superior and that are related to the nature of the position.

Attributes required

Essential attributes

Training:

University degree in Psychology with specialization or specific experience in psychosocial care aimed at vulnerable populations.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience of a minimum of three years working, in activities of care for vulnerable people.
  • Experience in psychosocial care for survivors of violence or sexual exploitation.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework on care for survivors of GBV, care routes, accessibility to services.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial first aid care techniques and tools.

Competences

  • Synthetic and structured written expression capacity.
  • Propositional and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a culturally diverse team.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, partners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Ease of working with communities in complex social contexts.
  • Solid Microsoft Office Package domain. (To be evaluated in technical test)
  • Management of information management tools on the web and computer domain.

Preferred attributes

  • Work experience in the humanitarian context.
  • Experience in executing activities in territories with complex contexts and limited resources
  • Knowledge of the Venezuelan crisis, migration and displacement.
  • Knowledge of the project cycle.
  • Knowledge of the Humanitarian Structure in the country.

The position is exclusive for Venezuelan people or with valid documentation to work in the country.

Conditions

  • Location: Falcón, Venezuela. Base in Coro, with trips to other municipalities of the State of Falcón.
  • Contract duration: Until May 31, 2024, with the possibility of renewal.
  • Expected start date: 02/20/2024
