Grant and Partnership Coordinator – Tegucigalpa, Honduras / Guatemala City, Guatemala At Norwegian Refugee Council


one. Objective

The Norwegian Refugee Council seeks for the office of Northern Central America and Mexico (NCA&M) an experienced and highly motivated profile with solid training in Grants and Partnerships, the position holder will work closely with the Grant and Partnership Manager to achieve high-quality, standards-compliant programming among NRC partners at NCA&M through effective management of grants and due diligence. The Grant and Partnership Coordinator will also support the work of the Steering Committees, coordinate the work of the technical committee, coordinate communications with member organizations and donors to achieve the consortium’s objectives.

2. Main responsibilities

  1. Act as a focal point for the NRC of consortia and partnerships.
  2. Support the Grant and Partnership Manager in identifying partners, assessing their capacity, developing a capacity development plan, transferring the relevant NRC experience and tools.
  3. Ensure effective coordination and communication between members of consortia, steering and technical committees, programmatic and funding / support teams of partners, donors and other stakeholders. Coordination is one of the key elements of the position.
  4. Support the Consortium Steering Committee at its meetings, as requested, and implement the agreed course of action.
  5. Organize and coordinate in collaboration with the Grant and Partnership Manager all operational meetings with relevant departments and partners, including the Grant Opening Meeting (GOM), Progress Review Meetings (PRMs) and Grant Closure Meeting (GCM), and ensure that tools (spending plans, work plans, etc.) are up to date.
  6. Coordinate monitoring of partner activities, as necessary, for information, learning and possibly advocacy purposes.
  7. Ensure that all official project documents and relevant communications are properly labeled and archived for audit purposes, and ensure updating of the NRC’s online grant management system throughout the project cycle for all types of partners.
  8. Ensure compliance and harmonization of project monitoring and evaluation tools in coordination with project monitoring staff.
  9. Collaborate and support the Grant and Partnership Manager in all necessary tasks in the unit (HRP, 345W reports, proposal review, update data on donor platforms, etc.)

3. Professional Competences

  • University degree in social sciences or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and / or coordination for an organization with programming responsibility in a humanitarian, conflict or post-conflict context; or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in project cycle management and grant management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation and diplomatic skills, including professional credibility to provide coordination and sometimes guidance to member organizations.
  • Documented results related to job responsibilities.
  • Great writing and editing capacity.
  • Fluency is desired in English, spoken and written.
