General Country Directorate (Colombia) – Bogotá At Help in Action


Position objective:

Lead the development of Aid in Action presence in Colombia and lead, together with the headquarters and country management and regional team, the development of programs and the organization of the equipment and resources necessary to fulfill the objectives of the country’s strategy, as well as the identification, planning (strategic and operational) and supervision and the development of a financing plan to guarantee the sustainability and financing of the different Aid in Action programs in Colombia.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Country Strategy in Colombia, ensuring a direct contribution to the Institutional Strategy for Aid in Action.
  • Coordinate and monitor the management of the National Office in Colombia, guiding teams, ensuring consistency, collaboration and learning and the achievement of the objectives set in the different lines of work included in the Country Strategy.
  • Lead in the development of strategic alliances with entities from the public and private spheres, both nationally and internationally, in order to promote and participate in the design of a portfolio of projects and participate in the coordination and design of projects to present funders. Designate the country’s resources to prepare proposals requested by the areas of Corporate Financing, the Regional Hub.
  • Lead the identification of new initiatives and opportunities that respond to the identified needs of the country strategy, as well as design innovative initiatives to present calls from public and private donors.
  • Design and implement an economic sustainability plan together with the Colombian and corporate teams.
  • Advise and follow up on projects in technical, financial and management aspects, developing and promoting relationships with local partners and with other cooperation actors in Colombia.
  • Represent Aid in Action within the framework of the alliance of European organizations, Alliance2015, both in the country and at the regional level to meet the objectives set at the level of Colombia and Latin America. Likewise, represent Aid in Action before national and international organizations, organizations, networks and coordination spaces in Colombia together with the Country Representative.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of at least 10 years of work in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian action, of which 5 years as Director.
  • Experience managing work teams.
  • Experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of strategic plans and programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of the context of Colombia and its link with other countries in the region.
  • Knowledge of the legal and fiscal obligations that affect non-profit organizations in the country.
  • Knowledge of development and humanitarian agencies in the humanitarian field and their policies and strategies.
  • Experience in the design of humanitarian programs and projects financed by international donors such as the United Nations System, EU (ECHO-DEVCO), USAID, CIDA, DFID and AECID, among others.

Languages:

  • English: C1 Advanced,

  • Yes. National and International.
