Doctors of the World has been present in the DRC since 1994 and now operates in 2 provinces of the country (Kinshasa and Tanganyika) through several’urgences and development programs :
- Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health Program (SRHR)
- Environment Health Programme for the promotion and protection of market gardening health
- Humanitarian Space Programme, emergencies and crises

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION :
Under the responsibility of the desk manager, you have the operational responsibility of the’ whole mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Your main responsibilities are as follows :
- Recruit, manage and supervise the training needs of the’ set of the’s mission team
- Define the operational and advocacy strategy in collaboration with the’ coordination team, the/the desk manager and the volunteer managers of the mission
- Plan and monitor activities, put in place corrective measures if necessary and provide technical support to your team
- Represent MdM to authorities, local actors, partners, donors and the media
- Monitor collaboration agreements with partners, authorities and donors, seek and develop new partnerships and carry out or supervise the search for funding
- Ensure the financial management of the mission by supervising construction and budgetary monitoring and donor funding
- Develop, adapt and monitor the application of security rules and procedures and pilot crisis management in the territory
- Set up and monitor the application of MdM frameworks, policies and procedures on programmatic and support aspects
- Oversee internal and donor reporting

Status : Wage-earner
Contract : Fixed term contract
Duration : 12 Months
- Position to be filled from 15 May 2024
- Monthly gross salary of 3,732 euros
- Equivalent 13th month paid in 2 times – from 6 months of’seniority of actual work
- ’expatriation premium of 10% of gross salary per month
- Support for transport (home – mission), visas, vaccines on departure
- Housing allowance
- Participation in tuition fees (child from 3 years)
- Per diem for the accompanying’ (if unemployed) and half per diem per child
- 22.5 RTT /year
- 5 Weeks paid leave /year
- Mutual (60% participation of MdM and 40% of the employee)

PROFILE SEARCH :
- Bachelor + 5 in social sciences, political sciences, international relations, humanitarian and international cooperation or related field ;
- Training in project management ;
- A master’s degree in public health is an asset.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the humanitarian sector ;
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position in the humanitarian field (head of mission, operations coordinator, field coordinator, etc.) ;
- Experience in strategic thinking, including identification, analysis, problem-solving and responding to opportunities and challenges, as well as the ability to translate them into practical action plans.
- Have strong leadership skills and a management style that is supportive to all staff.
- Solid experience in project planning and budgeting ; proposal and drafting of a report ;
- Experience working in an insecure environment with responsibility for security planning, monitoring and management.
- Experience in remote and emergency or post-emergency management ;
- Experience in sub-Saharan Africa is an asset.
- Skills in the’ use of project management tools (logic framework analysis, project cycle management, objectives and indicators, management tables, etc.)
- Competence in logistical and financial monitoring tools
- Confident and competent in using MS Office
- Listening and diplomacy skills, and,
- Good human relations and communication skills
- Languages : Common French and English
