About TDA

The Day After (TDA) is a Syrian non-profit organization that is working to countering authoritarianism and support democratic transition in Syria. It adopts the values of human rights in accordance with international conventions and covenants.

OUR VISION

Syrians’ rights, peace, stability, and prosperity can only be achieved through a process of democratic transition and a comprehensive national program for transitional justice that lays the foundation for justice and reconciliation. TDA also believes that local communities and civil society organizations are key actors to bring about resilience, recovery, and democracy for Syria.

OUR GOALS

TDA identifies the following as goals that should guide the efforts of political transition:

  • Supporting civil initiatives locally inside Syria and supplying them with knowledge in the areas of justice, human rights, and the political transition from an authoritarian regime to a democratic one.
  • Supporting justice and accountability efforts by supporting victims of human rights violations in Syria, especially victims of arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance and displacement, monitoring patterns of violations, and raising awareness of relevant actors and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the efforts of the political transition from its position in the Syrian civil society in line with its values and objectives.
  • Coordinating the efforts of Syrian civil society in the areas of transitional justice and engaging in the formulation of a political transition.

Job Purpose:

Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, identify potential new funding sources and opportunities, initiate relationships with potential donors, and increase overall funding for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of TDA’s overall vision and strategy for all programs and activities.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising action plan, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Identify and research potential funding sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, and government funding.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Advise on effective use of technology and online platforms for fundraising campaigns.
  • Be primarily responsible for the drafting of project proposals and fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate the preparation of modification requests for donors, including proposal revision, budget realignment, and other changes, while ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
  • Attend meetings to identify opportunities for new grants.
  • Ensure consistency in proposal writing by adhering to TDA’s policies.
  • Maintain efficiency, effectiveness, and professionalism in relationships with donors.
  • Develop and implement tools for effective proposal writing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date filing system for all aspects of grants management.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Executive Director, within the scope of competence.

Academic Qualifications:

Relevant academic and/or professional background in the fields of international development, transitional justice, and political science.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in NGO management, proposal development, and program reporting.
  • Excellent writing skills in English at a native-speaker level and demonstrated ability to write proposals under tight deadlines.
  • Experience conducting capacity-building activities and enthusiasm to share knowledge and information with others.
  • Working knowledge of budget development and management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in successful fundraising for non-profit organizations and proposal writing.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Familiarity with the sector and potential funding sources.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the organization’s team
