WHAT WE DO …
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs of, drinking, eating, s’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, of, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, etc,some volunteers..- intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
The SAME interventions of Solidarities International support populations from the’absorption phase of’a shock with’ food assistance and go so far as to strengthen the resilience of their’s means to face and’ adapt to the future shocks (see SI SAME 2025 strategy for more’information). The global objective of SAME teams in the field is thus to ensure sustainable food and economic security for populations affected by conflicts, economic or health shocks or natural disasters. The SAME sector at Solidarities International is strengthening in 2024 with the arrival of additional resources at headquarters. In particular, we want to develop our activities to strengthen the economic security of populations seen as vulnerable by supporting their access to’employment or’entrepreneurship, and,particularly in the agricultural and food sectors.
JOB DESCRIPTION
L’Expert.e Regional.e SAME (Food Safety and Means of’), attached to the Geographical Desk « Orange » supports teams from the following countries : Mozambique, CAR, DRC, Sudan.
He/She contributes to the’ attainment of an optimum quality level of projects through different missions according to the specific needs of these countries :
Development of the regional SAME strategy in collaboration with headquarters ;
Development of a portfolio of SAME projects and the related technical expertise’ within the country teams,
Deployment and operationalization of technical scoping documents ;
Training, capacity building and coaching of teams ;
Representation of external IS expertise.
In order to carry out its responsibilities, a deployment to the countries of the region will be planned up to 50% of the time.
YOUR PROFILE
TRAINING: Agronomist Engineer /in Agriculture, Agriculture, Technician.ne agricultural or veterinary, rural development studies, geography, economy, local development, food security.
EXPERIENCE : At least 5 years of experience’ in humanitarian mission or at headquarters on projects or programs Food Safety and Means of’Existence (including at least two years on positions of coordinator or technical referent).
Experiences in one or more of the following approaches : agroecology, territorial approach, value chain/chain, nutrition, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation.
TECHNICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL SKILLS :
Skills in design, management and coordination of SAME projects (food assistance, support for agriculture/livestock/fishing, support for’employability and’entrepreneurship, development of agricultural and food markets, management of natural resources)
Competence in money transfers and market-based approach
Knowledge of cross-cutting approaches (mentioned above), including approaches that allow for longer-term impacts of SAME interventions
Skills in carrying out SAME diagnostics and’technical studies related to the SAME sector (agrarian diagnostics, market analysis, sector study, etc.)
Skills in design and implementation of’Tools and SAME methodologies
Skills in carrying out’ interim or final evaluations of projects
Skills in developing training modules and conducting training
Good command of the’ analysis frameworks and key methodologies and indicators of the SAME sector
Knowledge of’analysis tools in sociology and/or anthropology is a plus

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
Position based at the headquarters of Solidarity International, in Clichy la Garenne (Mairie de Clichy Metro) with frequent travel on the ground
CDD contract 6 months – Framework status. Contract until 31 December 2024
Monthly gross remuneration of : 3 183 € or 3 316 € depending on the grid in force at headquarters
Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of Teleworking per month or 100% of teleworking with 3 days of mandatory face-to-face per month. In accordance with the Telework Charter in force and the manager.
Leave : 2.0833 CP /month and 1 day RTT / full month of work
Mutual (80 %), restaurant tickets (60%), transport tickets Ile de France (50%) supported by the’association
Days of recovery and medical coverage taken care of 100% during the field trips
