WHAT WE DO …

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs of, drinking, eating, s’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, of, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, etc,some volunteers..- intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Emergency Desk belongs to the operations department. He is in charge of the realization of the exploratory missions and the’urgency interventions.

L’Assistant Desk Urgence carries out its functions under the authority of the Chief Financial Officer and the Logistics Manager of the Desk Urgence and works in collaboration with the field and other services of the headquarters including geographical desks, the operational directorate assistant to the programs, the administrative and financial department and the logistics department.

Objectives of the internship :

Discover the headquarters of’an NGO and understand the relationship between the headquarters and the field ;
Discover the different professions on the ground ;
Understanding the functioning of’a mission and its constraints ;
Understand the relationships between different humanitarian actors ;
Know the specific expectations of funders ;
Putting project monitoring management into practice ;
Be in direct contact with the field through expatriate staff ;
Discover the strategy of’an NGO.

List of main responsibilities :

Assist the Financial Management Officer in the execution of administrative tasks ;
Assist the Logistics Manager in the operational follow-up of’achat files and compliance with the rules imposed by donors ;
Assist the office manager in the monitoring of the programming ;
Ensure the’archiving and centralization of contractual and administrative documents ;
Facilitate the liaison between the interlocutors (Seat – Mission or between several departments at headquarters).

Details of tasks :

ACCOUNTING

Assist the Financial Manager in all accounting tasks ;
Verify the analytical and accounting allocations of missions ;
Verify the’ allocation of mission expenses and their distribution between the different contracts ;
Assist the administrative and financial coordinator of missions in the allocation of headquarters expenses for missions ;
Contribute to monitoring office expenses ;
Contribute to the annual accounting closure ;
Use of SAGA accounting software (mission).

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Responding to requests from mission administrators ;
Participate in the audit of mission budget follow-ups ;
Participate in the verification of project proposal budgets, submission and interim and final reports ;
Assist in the preparation of financial audits ;
Participate in the validation of mission cash flow forecasts.

LOGISTICAL

Participate in the verification of’achats files and compliance with the’achat procedures of SI ;
Participate in the compilation of logistics documents during final reports ;
Ensuring the’archiving of logistics documents ;
Contribute to the verification of monthly logistics packages.

GENERAL

Participate in weekly and monthly meetings of the office and the various services worked ;
Provide support to projects of’other offices according to requests.

YOUR PROFILE

Degree in development, international relations, business or financial management, political science, project management, water and sanitation study or agronomy ;
Training in accounting or finance is not necessary, but ease with numbers and willingness to’learn in these areas are required ;
Excellent knowledge of’anglais and French ;
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel ;
Very good capacity of’analysis and writing ;
Good synthesis capacity ;
Proactivity and critical thinking ;
Organization and anticipation ;
Relationship skills ;
Ability to work under pressure ;
Commitment to the principles and work of Solidarity International.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Internship based in the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), metro Mairie de Clichy

Intern with compulsory internship agreement.
Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
