Finance Manager At CARE USA


JOB SUMMARY:

The Finance Manager for the Women’s Economic Justice team (WEJ) will provide financial management services and grants/contracts management support to the different units of WEJ team, including CARE Impact Partners (CIP), CARE Social Ventures (CSV), and CARE Enterprises Inc (CEI).

Overall, the Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions such as accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as, grants, contracts and partner funding administration. The incumbent will work closely with the teams to provide necessary financial reports and data, and ensure seamless grant/investor management. He or she will create and maintain financial dashboards which accurately forecast sales & revenue, expenses and cash flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CSV Financial Management

  • Manage budgeting, revenue & expense monitoring and daily accounting functions.
  • Generate financial statements and provide analysis of expenses, revenue, cash flow and overall financial position.
  • Provide financial management support to CSV’s portfolio companies, including financial modeling, cash flow monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Manage grants & contracts, non- traditional revenue streams, investments and loan/financing activities.
  • Manage audits and other financial reviews.

CEI and CIP Financial Management

  • Leadership role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software.
  • Generate financial reports and provide reliable insights into cash flow and entity-level P&L.
  • Provide grants and financial management services to the portfolio of grants and client engagements.
  • Oversee procurement and expense management, ensuring compliance with CARE policies.
  • Develop cost proposals for new funding opportunities.
  • Manage audits and other financial reviews.

WEJ level sales & revenue forecasting

  • Long-Term Financial Planning: working with WEJ leads to have a 3 to 5-year sales & revenue projections that show if the team is on track/off-track towards the sales & revenue needed to hit WEJ impact goals.
  • Mid-Term Financial Planning: annual systems and process working with each area to forecast and goal set) revenue & sales for the following year.
  • Short-Term Financial Planning & Analysis: quarterly tracking of sales & revenue, as well as analysis of sales & revenue trends across WEJ

Staff Management

  • Onboarding and training of new Finance staff.
  • Managing staff schedules and assigning individual responsibilities.
  • Conducting periodic performance reviews.
  • Managing the team’s professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or business administration with emphasis in Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with equivalent work experience in NGO, for profit organization, and development industry setting for 5 years with emphasis on accounting, finance, grants and budget management.
  • At least five years relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis and operations, financial reporting, grants and budget management with an NGO, for profit organization in a development industry setting.
  • Proficiency with financial statements preparation, review and analysis.
  • Setting up administrative and financial systems for new projects and programs.
  • Budget development/planning, data consolidation and budget monitoring.
  • Strong team player, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships within a distributed and dynamic team, and with partner organizations.
  • Problem-solving and training skills
  • Flexible, creative and solution-orientated approach
  • Effective inter-personnel and communications skills
  • Preparation and review of agreements and contracts, and their administration
  • Understanding of audit requirements, ability to audit for profit accounts
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Advanced skills in accounting
