CFI is implementing the KALIMAT SUDANIA project , funded by the European Union (Delegation to Sudan), for an amount of 695,460 euros, initially for a period of two years from February 1, 2021 until January 31, 2023, then extended for a period of 8 months until September 31, 2023. However, given the civil war started from April 15, 2023, the project had to be temporarily suspended and was finally extended until April 30, 2024.
The objective of the project is to contribute to the inclusion of youth in public debate, to the strengthening of local journalism and to collaboration between media and civil society, relying in particular on local digital media.
The project is structured around 2 main activity components:
- Promote the inclusion of young people in society and public debate, supporting media initiatives, particularly those led by young people and women.
- Strengthen local journalism, as well as collaboration between journalists and civil society, by strengthening professionalization and promoting mutual understanding.
The final external evaluation of this project will cover the entire project execution period and will aim to evaluate the project according to the CAD criteria of relevance, coherence, efficiency, effects, impacts and sustainability (see full document).
