iMMAP France is an international non-profit organization whose role is to provide information management services to humanitarian and development organizations, allowing partners to make informed decisions that, Ultimately, they provide high-quality specific assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations. iMMAP France converts data into information and creates knowledge for decision makers operating in conflict, disaster, post-disaster and recovery environments, as well as other complex emergency situations and development contexts.

Project context

Since 2018, the National Government requested support and technical cooperation from the United Nations System in Colombia, to join efforts in dealing with the emergency derived from the mixed migratory flow of the Venezuelan population. Support that UNICEF has focused on an annual Response Plan (HAC).

In turn, the current challenges due to multi-affection emergencies (armed conflict and natural disasters), shows the need for a comprehensive HAC that responds to the specific needs of the territory. In the construction and actions of this plan, it has derived the need for UNICEF to consolidate the evidence and strengthen the management and management of information for effective strategic planning, through:

• Information products that facilitate timely and accurate decision-making in accordance with national and territorial contexts.

• Identification of sectoral needs and challenges that can be addressed under an intersectoral perspective, including information on the needs of the affected communities.

• Carry out analyzes of territorial information that allow us to have a vision of the situation of children and adolescents.

• Have information products that allow the results of the implementation of emergency response plans to be disseminated.

• Identify and position priority issues of the situation of children at the national and territorial levels.

• Have information products that allow advocacy processes at the institutional level and resource management before potential donors.

In this sense, 3iSolution has been supporting the country office to strengthen its information management and management processes, managing to have more timely and quality information products in front of their response plan and their inter-agency leadership, positioning priority issues on the situation of children, Girls and Adolescents at national and territorial level, and optimize processes for reporting the humanitarian response of UNICEF and its implementing partners.

Project objective:

This technical assistance project focuses on strengthening UNICEF’s technical and human capacities in formulation, development, and use of information products for the timely and accurate decision-making in accordance with the national and territorial context.

Strategic lines of the project

  1. Analysis and use of information for planning and reporting UNICEF humanitarian actions.
  2. Capacity building for interagency leadership

Description of the Services:

The natural person in offering these services aims to strengthen the capacities of key project actors and transfer processes, including a general training strategy for the project, the schedule for the development of training sessions, the development of pedagogical methodologies for facilitating training, indicators for monitoring and evaluating the strategy, and the preparation of the materials and means of convocation for their implementation.

Activities

  • Prepare a work plan and communicate its progress, difficulties and challenges in a timely manner, through the monitoring tools established within the project.
  • Conduct assessments of training needs.
  • Design the training program in accordance with the objectives of the project, including a strategy for its monitoring and evaluation
  • Set a schedule of the training sessions with the key actors in the project.
  • Schedule follow-up activities with members of the iMMAP France team to ensure the correct use of the tools.
  • Improve the capacity of the project team for the development of training sessions and the implementation of training and follow-up workshops, which involves advice on the preparation of materials, coordination of the agenda, means of convening, implementation and evaluation of experience.
  • Build a technical guide to track and evaluate training sessions.
  • Build a technical guide for training development, according to the key actors chosen within the project.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports. From the training strategy.
  • Accompany and document the training processes carried out by team members.
  • Guarantee the timely and organized delivery of the products agreed in the work schedule.
  • Participate in the meetings of the transversal team and in the knowledge management spaces that are organized for this purpose.
  • Participate in project monitoring meetings.Skills:
  • Skills for training and skills development.
  • Competences for oral and written expression.
  • Experience in training activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing training programs.
  • Ability to work based on objectives and compliance with standards using management indicators.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of internal conflict, its actors and understanding of the policies implemented in the area.
  • Advanced office management.Experience:To be eligible, the natural person in providing these services must have at least 4 years of experience developing activities similar to those indicated in these terms.
