Economic Inclusion Specialist At HIAS


HIAS Colombia seeks to hire a ( a ) Economic Inclusion specialist who will support the general implementation and strategy of the objectives of the Economic Inclusion and Economic Recovery program ( Means of life ) in the south west region. He will be responsible for technically accompanying the teams in the field, supporting methodological planning of activities as well as technical review and adaptation of documents, and validation of national and regional methodologies.

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide technical, operational and strategic direction support for economic inclusion programming in HIAS Colombia, especially to the south-western region with BPRM projects.
  • Contribute to the design, planning and implementation of HIAS Economic Inclusion and Economic Recovery ( Means of Life ) activities, including, among others, training on relevant topics, financial education, employability and poverty alleviation programs as the graduation model.
  • Support national and regional strategies to facilitate access to employment for migrants, refugees and the host population, including working with the private sector to raise awareness of the rights of migrants and refugees.
  • Designs and implements tools for information management, impact evaluations, the systematization and capitalization of technical experiences and good practices in teams, identifying opportunities for information dissemination.
  • Support the adaptation of methodologies and guides to each context for the implementation of the HIAS Economic Inclusion Programming.
  • It accompanies EI’s actions in the territories, to follow up and give technical recommendations seeking the highest level of quality of the program.
  • Maintain constant articulation with other colleagues in the technical areas of HIAS ( VBG, SMAPS, and legal protection ) to guarantee the complementarity of actions and technical standards.
  • Maintain constant communication with EI’s national technical coordination and the regional technical advisory team, to guarantee the implementation of HIAS technical guidelines and standards.
  • Support in the supervision of the implementing partners of the projects in IE, providing a technical line.
  • Represent HIAS Colombia in regional and national coordination spaces that are required in EI issues. Carry out a rapprochement with key actors to articulate and coordinate actions on the ground.
  • Periodically supports the production of technical information to position the EI area at the national social networks level, or in regional and Global publications, in close articulation with the communications area.
  • Carry out technical support trips to the offices periodically.
  • Represent HIAS Colombia in spaces with focal points in the regions and on platforms and regional coordination group.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Studies:

  • Professional in economics, social sciences, international development or other relevant fields. A master’s degree will be valued.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in humanitarian settings in Economic Inclusion programming.
  • Previous experience in employability and entrepreneurship programs in the migratory context and / or internal displacement with vulnerable populations in Colombia.
  • Experience in implementing approaches to economic inclusion with migrants and refugees with a gender focus is valued.
  • Experience with the private and business sector for the inclusion of the migrant and refugee population in Colombia is valued.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge about livelihoods with a gender perspective.
  • Knowledge about the rights of the migrant and refugee population and barriers to access decent livelihoods.
  • A high level of spoken and written English
