Institutional Fundraising is a critical pillar of the Global Fundraising & Communications team. Together, they are at the leading edge of strategy and impact—by securing resources needed to drive strengthening the organization as a thought-leader and development NGO of the future.

PSI seeks a Director, Institutional Fundraising that will Provide departmental leadership and strategic direction. Consolidate and continue the growth of PSI’s public and private sector fundraising capabilities with a strong focus on raising money across a broad range of donors and funding mechanisms, while maintaining ambitious revenue targets. Represent the business development and fundraising functions internally and builds and maintains relationships externally to influence other partners, donors, and stakeholders to support PSI’s work.

Salary Range:
$147,000 (MINIMUM) – $184,000 (MID-POINT) – $230,000 (MAXIMUM)
For US-based candidates, the annual base salary range is reflected above.* We value transparency and have provided the full salary range for this role. Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, external market analysis, and other business factors permitted by law. Hiring above the mid-point of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential future salary growth. Responsibilities

Your contributions – Plans, directs and manages public sector resource acquisition for the organization in coordination with senior leadership and country representatives worldwide. 25% of Time

  • Supervises a team of 10+ staff to work with field and headquarters staff on program design and proposal writing (technical) for strategic opportunities for PSI. 20% of Time
  • Establishes and/or cultivates close relationships with country teams, key current and prospective donors and partner organizations. 20% of Time
  • Represents the business development team within PSI and at external forums and meetings and provides strategic fundraising perspective. 15% of Time
  • Monitors trends in major donor financing and development. 10% of Time
  • Provides quality assurance reviews of proposals developed by staff and field/technical teams. 10% of Time

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
  • Master’s degree in international health or international development preferred
  • At least 15 years business development or fundraising experience.
  • Deep understanding of PSI’s organizational construct and work globally
  • At least 5 years management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading proposal development and fundraising/grantwriting
  • Established personnel management experience required, team leadership experience preferred
  • Advanced understanding of donor compliance
  • Established relationships with external partners, donors, and stakeholders
  • Proven writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience leading strategic design and strategy planning
  • International experience strongly preferred
