French Farmers and International Development (Afdi) is an association of agricultural professionals, whose mission is to build partnerships between the French agricultural world and developing countries. For nearly 50 years, Afdi has supported the strengthening of farmers’ organizations (POs), in their internal governance and the implementation of services for their members.
Afdi is looking for an Ivory Coast manager to coordinate its actions in the country.
Your role will be:
- Coordination and management of the activities of the Afdi unit in Ivory Coast;
- Representation of Afdi in Côte d’Ivoire, jointly with the unit’s mission manager;
- Coordination of the institutional and operational implementation of Afdi projects in the country, in particular the digitOP project.
Job profile:
- Training in agronomy, rural economy;
- Experience in coordinating agricultural or rural development projects (at least 10 years);
- Management experience (at least 7 years).
Job requirements:
- Knowledge of the dynamics of peasant organizations;
- Experience in institutional relations and consultation between stakeholders;
- Relational and management qualities;
- Rigor and project management capacity;
- Rigor and capacity for financial management and budget monitoring;
- Good teamwork skills;
- Ability to analyze, synthesize and evaluate;
- Writing skills and computer skills;
- Knowledge of digital services and their stakeholders would be a plus.
Conditions :
- Salary according to experience
- Status: employee under contract under Ivorian law;
- Duration of contract: One-year renewable fixed-term contract, starting position from May-June 2024;
- Position based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with frequent in-country and sub-regional travel.
