Country Address At Educo


Lead the development and execution of a high-quality country strategy in accordance with the Country Program Framework, aligned with the Global Impact Framework and the Global Program Framework, relevant to the local context and reflecting global priorities and contributing to Educo’s global strategy as a member of the Global Executive Committee.

– Monitor the recruitment, orientation and performance of Educo’s SMT (Senior Management Team) and its development, demonstrating a healthy commitment, strong management teams, culture of innovation and effective talent management.

– Strengthen the financial sustainability of programs and operations through a vibrant National Organizational Development Plan (PDO) aligned with the Global PDO, reaching healthy financial ratios and effective budget administration, as well as compliance with statutory regulations related to international NGOs in the country.

– Direct and supervise the efforts of acquisition and management of subsidies in the country through the CODP, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the portfolio and the achievement of annual objectives, including sponsorship services and their integration into the program.

– Monitor the quality of the program in the country; guarantee the quality of the execution of the program strategy that integrates child protection, disaster risk reduction, effective humanitarian response, including the security framework, in a timely manner, along with the completion of monitoring and evaluation processes.

– Lead and take all appropriate actions to ensure the promotion and compliance with the Protection and Ethics Policies (including the Protection of Children) and the monitoring of any finding to address any gap or weakness given the uniqueness of the local operating context and best practices.

– Represent Educo externally, including legal representation, and develop Educo’s reputation and brand based on CODP among government, donors, the media, NGOs to position, advocate, network and raise profile and reputation among important key influencers to advance the rights and well-being of children.

– Provide leadership in the development or change management of transformative initiatives in the country based on the GIF to allow the evolution of the programs and their delivery models, as well as encouraging innovation and development of action research.

– The director must be the one to guide the country office in the impact of our actions related to the well-being of children, the ultimate goal that we pursue as an organization.

REQUIREMENTS

– A bachelor’s degree is required and complementary studies will be valued at the master’s level and previous experience at the executive level.

– Work experience in the exercise of leadership functions with increasing responsibilities in an international environment related to development.

– Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of children’s rights and well-being.

– Knowledge of work under the focus of children’s rights.

– Knowledge of donor compliance requirements and financial management.

– Knowledge of strategic planning in a difficult environment, economic, social and humanitarian context in El Salvador or a comparable environment.

– Solid diplomatic, relationship and communication skills, including through the media, and proven skills for networking and negotiation with governmental and non-governmental actors.

– Satisfactory experience in developing and managing effective and motivated teams, and collaborative work, including distance management.

– Ability of active listening, which allows communication in an assertive and empathetic way, oriented to efficient leadership.

– Spanish language, English and knowledge of French will be valued.
