one. Context
AVSI Venezuela is a Venezuelan non-profit organization, created in 2022, to contribute to improving the living conditions of people living in vulnerable situations. We are a local organization linked to the international context, through a partnership with the AVSI Foundation, a non-profit non-governmental organization that supports 329 development cooperation projects in 39 countries, with headquarters in Italy, that has been operating in Venezuela since 2000 and that promoted the creation of AVSI Venezuela.
The School-Based Program includes, in a cross-cutting manner, a communication strategy with communities, inclusive treatment of people with disabilities and nutrition-sensitive actions, like a feedback and complaint mechanism, that together with school meals they aim to provide food assistance that protects the food security of the beneficiary students and their families, respect your rights and facilitate your participation in the school community. Likewise, promote capacity building in school personnel, kitchen staff and representatives, and ensure a gender and protection approach.

2. Object
With this announcement, AVSI Venezuela selects a Coordinator of Transversal Areas responsible for coordinating transversal activities ( nutrition-sensitive actions, communication with communities, inclusive treatment of people with disabilities, feedback and complaint mechanism, and the gender and protection ) approach in the WFP Program schools. These activities will be designed and accompanied by the WFP team and will be adapted to the results and lessons learned from the Program on a constant basis. The coordinator of cross-cutting areas of the implementing partner will be the link with the Field Office – focal point – and with the different areas of WFP, as applicable in each case.

3. Description of functions
For the execution of the project, the Coordinator of Transversal Areas will be responsible for:
 Assist the training carried out by WFP on the different areas: nutrition, communication with communities, protection and gender, and inclusion of people with disabilities.
 Take care of training different target groups such as: staff from your own organization, daily consulting staff / contract day, School leaders, school staff, among others.
 Coordinate and manage the implementation of educational activities, workshops, trainings, dynamics, socializations on cross-cutting themes, including the purchase of materials, prints and stationery, among other necessary resources and equipment; and ensuring that it has the resources and personnel necessary for its execution.
 Make proposals to WFP on the execution of the formations with the different groups, for this, they propose: a ) logistics plan for carrying out the training, b ) inclusive dynamics to develop training, c ) resources necessary to carry out these training ( materials, equipment, impressions, locations, audiovisual resources ).

 Coordinate the realization of socializations and activities in schools in which the dish served modality is implemented. For this, he coordinates the School Food Teams, contracted piecework personnel, community promoters, school personnel, among others.
 Coordinate socializations and activities with the community in schools in special education schools. For this, it coordinates the daily staff hired, school personnel, among others.
 Supervise, with support and under WFP standards, the adaptation of accessibility communications so that people with disabilities access and understand them. Includes prints and stationery and interpreter recruitment materials when necessary.
 Coordinate daily-time staff trained for the implementation ( in some cases ) of complementary activities in schools ( deworming days, extraordinary nutrition training workshops, among other activities of interest to WFP ).
 Monitor and ensure that beneficiaries are informed about all the key aspects of the different WFP Programs. To do this, they must share messages and information with the corresponding actors.
 Ensure the dissemination through the corresponding channels of the materials and products designed by WFP for communities such as infographics, audios, videos, guides, among others, through different means. In addition, they ensure the delivery of supplies and materials to the community such as recipes, toothbrushes and other supplies for people with disabilities, older adults, nursing mothers and other populations of interest.
 Ensure the visibility of WFP in schools and other program implementation points, following the WFP ( standards, posters, brochures, stickers and vests delivered by WFP ).
 Coordinate validation with the community of communicational products ( writing, content, fonts, etc. ) prepared by WFP, to ensure the understanding and quality of communications and give feedback to WFP, including number of people who participated.
 Share with the community and implement the different feedback mechanisms and complaints such as the Attention Line, suggestion boxes and face-to-face feedbacks. For this, they must contemplate the realization of suggestion boxes, designed under the WFP guidelines for each school, including the printing of formats for people to write.
 Report to WFP the number of participants attending informational and educational activities, including feedback from people on products, channels, activities, socializations, feedback mechanisms and complaints, among other important to adjust communications.

4. Key requirements and qualifications
 Education: Bachelor of Social Communication, Sociology, Social Sciences or Other Related Careers.
 Experience: of at least two ( 2 ) years in community interventions, social and community work. Experience in group management, facilitation of activities. Speech and pedagogical skills, desirable.

5. Knowledge, skills and abilities:

 Social sensitivity for community work with different actors, which includes the continuous accompaniment of processes.
 Creativity and proactivity.
 Efficient management of Microsoft Office ® intermediate level.

6. Coordination of work
The Coordinator of Transversal Areas will respond directly to the Director of AVSI Venezuela and to the State Coordinator, based on the guidelines issued by the LATAM Regional office, the AVSI Foundation Headquarters in Italy and the World Food Program ( WFP ).

7. Type of hiring
Contract at a certain time.
Start date: October 15, 2023
End date: September 30, 2024.

8. Workplace
Work will be carried out at the AVSI Venezuela office in Yaracuy, so residing in San Felipe or surrounding cities is highly desirable; otherwise, availability to relocate to Yaracuy. Availability for eventual trips to other municipalities and / or states where the project is executed at the national level. Knowledge of the territory will be valued.
