Consultant On Cohesion And Integration Champions Training For Early Warning Early Response In Baringo And Marsabit, Kenya At Anglican Development Services Kenya


Background

The Anglican Development Services-Kenya (ADS-Kenya), serving as the development arm of the Anglican Church of Kenya, has been instrumental in fostering social transformation ADS Kenya is currently actively engaged in peace-building initiatives in the Baringo and Marsabit regions of Kenya. As part of our commitment to fostering sustainable peace, we are seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to conduct training sessions on cohesion and integration for champions focused on early warning and early response mechanisms in the aforementioned regions.

Objectives

The primary objectives of this consultancy are:

a. To equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills on cohesion and integration for effective peacebuilding.

b. To enhance the capacity of champions in Baringo and Marsabit on early warning systems and early response strategies.

c. To facilitate the development of a community-driven approach to conflict prevention and resolution.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant is expected to:

a. Review existing materials on peacebuilding, early warning, and early response relevant to the context of Baringo and Marsabit.

b. Develop a comprehensive training curriculum on cohesion, integration, and early warning early response tailored to the local context.

c. Conduct training sessions for champions identified by ADS Kenya in Baringo and Marsabit.

d. Facilitate interactive discussions, practical exercises, and group activities to ensure effective learning and skill development.

e. Provide guidance on the development of action plans for participants to implement within their communities.

4. Deliverables

The consultant will be responsible for producing the following deliverables:

a. A detailed training curriculum on cohesion, integration, and early warning early response.

b. Training materials, including presentations, handouts, and case studies.

c. Pre and post-training assessments to measure participants’ knowledge and skills development.

d. A comprehensive report summarizing the training sessions, including feedback and recommendations for future initiatives.

5. Duration and Schedule

The consultant is expected to complete the training within [6 ] days 3 in each county. The training sessions will be conducted in Baringo and Marsabit.

Qualifications

The ideal consultant should possess:

a. Proven experience in conducting training on peacebuilding, cohesion, and integration.

b. In-depth knowledge of conflict dynamics in the Baringo and Marsabit regions.

c. Strong facilitation and communication skills.

d. Experience working with diverse communities, preferably in a pastoralist context.

e. Relevant academic qualifications in peace and conflict studies or a related field.
