SUMMARY OF L’OFFRE

Under the responsibility of the regional head of the PCV, the volunteer cooperating person will carry out his mandate with the partner’organisation in order to ensure the implementation of’ individual and organisational capacity building activities within the framework of the voluntary cooperation programme. The advisor will be required to advise, assist and support technically the’ team of the partner in their reflections and work surrounding the internal and/or external communication of the’ organization. The person holding the position also contributes to the development of communication renderings and’s related to the activities developed and implemented during his mandate.

RESPONSIBILITIES* :

  • Ensure the implementation of the activities of the PCV programme and the establishment of relations of trust with the’partner organisation ;
  • Identify and analyse the internal and external communication tools and strategies of the’partner organisation ;
  • Support the’ development of an external communication plan in close collaboration with members of the’ team responsible for communication and advocacy ;
  • Support’ development of’a strategy related to philanthropy and sponsorship in close collaboration with members of the’ team responsible for partnerships and communication ;
  • Support a good implementation of the communication plan in close collaboration with the members of the’ communication team of the partner and by associating the heads of the expertises clusters and the managers of programs ;
  • Collaborate in the update or development of’internal and external communication tools ;
  • Identify the needs and organize training modules in communication and/or fundraising ;
  • Accompany the’ communication team in capitalizing on and disseminating innovative experiences and initiatives through, in particular, social media ;
  • Provide technical support in the drafting and layout of the annual’activities report and improvement of the website and news bulletin (newsletter) ;
  • Write articles on the work carried out and on the’experience of voluntary cooperation ;
  • To report on the’ progress of activities carried out in collaboration with the’partner organisation and to keep in regular contact with the regional manager of the PCV.

*The responsibilities are given as’example and may differ from the elaborated mandate that will be proposed to the candidate. All mandates are developed with partners on the basis of expressed needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Have permanent residence or Canadian citizenship ;
  • Hold a diploma of’ undergraduate university studies in communication or other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 2 years of’significant work experience in a communication officer position or in an equivalent position;
  • Mastery of French both written and spoken. The person must be able to write, revise, comment on and correct texts in French;
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training and provide recommendations ;
  • Mastery of new technologies of’information ;
  • Exceptional ability for teamwork while being autonomous in his work ;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office 2010 suite (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint) ;
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and great capacities of’adaptation ;

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED (at least two)

  • Relevant experience in organizational communication and in the development of communication plans and strategies ;
  • Good knowledge of social media and ability to support the’improvement of’a website ;
  • Experience in fundraising and developing philanthropy strategies.

Assets :

  • Hold a specialization or master’s degree ;
  • Experience working abroad ;
  • Knowledge of international development issues ;
  • Knowledge of the rights of’enfant ;
  • Knowledge of the principles of’equality between women and men ;
  • Knowledge of results-based management and of the’ approach based on human rights ;
  • Experience of voluntary cooperation ;
  • Knowledge of security measures in international cooperation.
