Acted Chad

Acted has been working in Chad since November 2004 and in the Lake since 2011, where it has been conducting emergency and resilience interventions with refugee, displaced, returned and vulnerable host populations.

Acted Chad has more than 130 employees and manages its operations from its national coordination base in N’Djamena.

With a regional coordination base in Bol and a sub-base in Daboua,’Acted programmes are currently taking place in the departments of Mamdi, Fouli and Kaya, in the Lake Chad Province. The’Acted strategy combines an emergency’ response within the rapid response mechanism (RRM) consortium through food assistance (food/cash and non-food distribution programmes, including, nutrition) and shelter; and support for early recovery through programmes to combat malnutrition and multi-sectoral approaches in Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (EHA), and, emergency education (EiE), disaster risk reduction (DRR) and strengthening of the means of’ existence.

Main role and responsibilities

The/the Country Security Officer directly supports the/the Country Director in the’ reporting on the’analysis of the context, the drafting of security documents and compliance with safety standards. He/she will be responsible(e) to draft all the requested’Acted safety report documents within the scope of the’activity of the Safety Department and is responsible for its administration.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Education : University degree in International Relations or Politics, Sciences Po, business schools or similar ;
  • Level of’studies required: BAC+4/5 ;
  • Rigorous and meticulous approach to work ;
  • Dynamic, autonomous and force of proposition ;
  • Communication and reporting capacity ;
  • Excellent level in English, written and spoken (daily contacts with local teams)

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies,’expertise, the level of safety and the level of experience : between 2000 and 2200€ monthly net (before income taxes)
  • Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
  • Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
  • Visa fees supported by Acted
  • R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
  • One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
  • Psychological support (meet with a professional.le)
