THE POST.

Context

Bioforce is looking for its development manager for its Africa entity located in Dakar (Senegal).

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the director of Bioforce Africa, you are responsible for the development department and work closely with the managers of other operational departments.

The Development Department proposes, leads and develops capacity building projects for those involved in crisis preparation and response (international projects, short training courses and “tailor-made” training courses for organizations in the IS sector). The expertise of the Development Department is project engineering, planning, evaluation and relations with national and international donors.

Your missions will be to:

Ensure the coordination and strategic development of Bioforce Africa’s inter/intra training projects

  • Contribute to the development of Bioforce Africa’s project strategy
  • Identify capacity/skills building needs among humanitarian organizations operating in Senegal and Africa
  • Monitor calls for tenders
  • Respond to calls for proposals related to the mandate of Bioforce Afrique
  • Write intervention proposals either in service mode or in project mode (funding request)

Supervise and manage the implementation of projects

  • Develop project action plans with the team
  • Manage the development and monitoring of project budgets
  • Structuring and organizing project teams
  • Ensure the proper articulation of the different processes/tools and their capitalization to ensure the proper functioning of projects
  • Develop, analyze and monitor project management indicators
  • Carry out reporting to lessors and agents

Manage the development department team

  • Participate in the recruitment of people in your team
  • Participate in the integration and appropriation of the position
  • Mobilize teams on projects
  • Carry out all individual monitoring and evaluation interviews
  • Contribute to the development of team skills

Ensure the representation of Bioforce Africa to operational partners and donors

  • Ensure the promotion and visibility of projects carried out by Bioforce Africa among partners.
  • Create and lead a network of operational, institutional and private partners (..) in conjunction with the coordinators of the development centers

DESIRED PROFILE.

Knowledge & experience

You have at least 10 years of experience in coordination and management of International Solidarity projects, including 3 years in a similar position (direction, management).

You have a good knowledge of the humanitarian action sector and international and national private and public donors.

You have the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate several projects at once.

You have skills in engineering and project management; proposal writing and reporting and budget management.

You are gifted in management, including remote team management.

Formation

BAC+ 5 Sciences Po, Master International Relations or Humanitarian Law or any other equivalent field.

Qualities

You are proficient in written and spoken English (minimum C1 level);

You are organized, responsive, attentive and autonomous;

You have good interpersonal and writing skills;

You are proactive;

You know how to adapt and manage your priorities;

You master the computer tools.

CONDITIONS.

Integration date

CONTRACT

6-month fixed-term contract, evolving towards a permanent contract (possibility of partial teleworking)

Localisation
