About the position:
As a Back-End Trainer at Multi Aid Programs (MAPS), you will be instrumental in our project to provide blinded learning courses for youth, enabling them to enter the global freelance market with confidence and proficiency in backend development. Under the guidance of the Technical Advisor, you will collaborate closely to design and deliver online training sessions that cover essential backend development concepts, technologies, and best practices, equipping trainees with the skills needed to excel in the digital economy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Technical Advisor to develop a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses fundamental backend development concepts, including programming languages, databases, server-side frameworks, APIs, and version control systems.
2. Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and interactive online training sessions to educate trainees on backend development principles, methodologies, and tools, providing hands-on learning experiences and practical insights into real-world development scenarios.
3. Individualized Coaching: Provide personalized guidance and mentorship to each trainee, offering support and feedback on their coding assignments, projects, and problem-solving skills, fostering their growth and development as backend developers.
4. Task Design: Work with the Technical Advisor to design weekly coding tasks and projects that challenge trainees to apply learned concepts and techniques, reinforcing their understanding and mastery of backend development principles.
5. Project Supervision: Oversee the development of semi and final backend projects, guiding trainees through the entire software development lifecycle, from project planning and architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
6. Resource Creation: Develop supplementary materials, such as coding tutorials, documentation, and best practice guides, to supplement training sessions and enhance trainees’ understanding of backend development technologies and methodologies.
7. Progress Evaluation: Assess trainees’ progress and performance through regular code reviews, assessments, and project evaluations, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their continuous improvement and mastery of backend development skills.
8. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in backend development, continuously enhancing your own skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality training sessions and mentorship to trainees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is required.
- Proven experience as a backend developer with a strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in backend technologies, frameworks, and projects.
- Previous experience in teaching, training, or mentoring individuals in backend development concepts and technologies.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, PHP, and familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii).
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL and NoSQL database management systems, RESTful APIs, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Deep understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and their practical applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively in a virtual learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Passion for education, technology, and empowering youth to succeed in the digital age.
- Fluent Arabic language, and an excellent level of English Language is essential.
