Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against world hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has founded its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies linked to conflict and natural disasters. Mission :
Under the supervision of the Country Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of interventions by the ACF Emergency base and the RRM program in its area of intervention.
More precisely, your role will be to:
Coordinate the implementation of the RRM program in the ACF intervention zone, in accordance with the ACF country strategy in CAR
Coordinate the implementation of the ACF country strategy in the zone intervention
Coordinate the entire implementation of programs in the field, in particular mobile teams in Nutrition and Health
Ensure monitoring of security in the intervention area
Ensure logistical, financial and HR monitoring of emergency activities
Manage the Emergency Base teams
Facilitate good relations with the coordination teams
Represent ACF and ensure relations with partners, authorities, United Nations agencies and NGOs in the intervention area
Profile :
You hold a humanitarian or general Master’s degree with at least 3 years of professional experience in base coordination or management of humanitarian programs. Expertise in RRM or Nutrition and Health is an advantage. You ideally have confirmed experience with ACF, with a good knowledge of ACF procedures and the conditions and constraints for implementing operations in its areas of intervention. You are familiar with humanitarian principles and are able to disseminate and enforce them. You have good resistance to stress and have already worked in an unstable security environment. You have experience in security management, information gathering and context analysis. You master internal and external reporting tools and procedures. You know how to manage and apply a continuous control mechanism for operations in order to increase their quality and identify and limit the risks associated with their implementation. You are diplomatic, patient, with a great sense of teamwork, and are able to define and transmit direction and vision to your teams. You have excellent command of the French language (oral and written), and have a good level of English, with ease in communication (internal and external).
Conditions of employment
Fixed-term contract under French law: 6 months until January 15, 2025
Gross monthly salary: from 2,597 to 2,968 euros depending on experience
Retirement insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens: 16% of the gross monthly salary
Per diem and monthly living expenses: 729 euros net, paid in the field
Monthly context allowance: 300 euros
Child allowance: 1,500 euros per year and per child present in the country of origin with ceiling
Transport and accommodation: Travel covered and collective housing
Medical Coverage: 100% of the payment of health contributions and repatriation insurance
Salary maintenance schemes
Leave and RnR: 25 days per year of CP and 20 RnR per year; payment of the ticket with ceiling to go to the chosen break zone, and 215 euros of fixed compensation per RnR
