WHAT DO WE DO

SOLIDARITIES INTERNATIONAL ( SI ) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has been helping populations victims of armed conflict and natural disasters by meeting vital needs, drink, eat, take shelter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements, through its interventions, expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in that, essential, food security and livelihood. Present in around twenty countries, the SI – 2000 teams in total made up of expatriates, national staff, headquarters staff,of some volunteers …- intervene with professionalism and commitment in the respect of cultures.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POST

General objective of the position :

The.The Volant.e Field Coordinator is a member of a fielder team also made up of a Country Director, an Administrative and Financial Coordinator, a Water-Hygiene-Shedging Coordinator, a Logistics Coordinator, an Internal Auditor and a SERA ( Tracking, Evaluation, Fee and Learning ) Coordinator. The members of this team meet the mission support needs via the various Desks of International Solidarity. When the members of this team are deployed, they work under the responsibility of the Director Country concerned.

During deployments ( 80% of working time ) :

In close connection with the assignment desk, and in addition to the terms of reference specific to each deployment, the/the Flying Field Coordinator generally deploys a maximum of 3 months on a renewable ( mission once maximum ) and will therefore be called upon to intervene in many contexts with specific challenges and own dynamics.

He / she is deployed on the bases according to an arbitration which goes back to the Director of Operations, it is therefore a question of articulating these deployments well in order to be a real bridge to a more sustainable team. The Field Coordinator must therefore both be operational quickly but also know how to understand and integrate his mission and decisions in a framework that will survive its relatively short-term transition.

The main non-exhaustive ( responsibilities are as follows :

Produce a continuous analysis of the context of the intervention area ;
Guarantee operational relevance and quality ;
Manage the security of people and property ;
Ensure relations with SI partners, local authorities and donor representatives in the area ;
Beyond the responsibilities linked to the programs, the CT also has a key role in the management of resources by ensuring human sizing, financial and logistical necessary for the completion of projects in its intervention area.
The identification of new local operational partners, in order to programmatic collaboration and transfer of skills, is an increasingly important axis for the CT as a function of the intervention areas.

When the Volant.e Field Coordinator is at headquarters or in telework ( 20% of the time ) :

One-off support missions to the desks.
Contribution to the improvement of mission monitoring tools.
Preparation of the future mission and finalization of the previous one.

YOUR PROFILE

Technical skills and knowledge :

Excellent knowledge of the humanitarian sector.
At least one previous experience as Field Coordinator.
Mission experiences with difficult security context.
Excellent skills in internal communication, organization and prioritization.
Strong managerial qualities ( team management; remote support; interest in supporting people and strengthening their skills ).
Editorial capacity and project management experience for the main institutional donors.
Very good knowledge of the humanitarian environment and principles, the challenges of coordination between NGOs and with United Nations agencies, and relations with the armed forces.
Ability demonstrated to represent the organization and to defend the interests of SI vis-à-vis the authorities.
Very good stress management.
Experience in the context of desirable openness.
French and English current, Spanish and Portuguese one plus.
Mastery of Microsoft pack tools.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Position based at the headquarters of Solidarités International ( telework possible ), in Clichy la Garenne ( Clichy Metro Town Hall ) with field trips.
CDI, Framework Statute.
Expatriate contract calculated on the basis of the expatriate salary scale. Gross salary from 2800 euros / month, excluding the promotion of experience in NGOs.

Recovery 1 day / Weekend spent in the field. 25 days paid vacation. No RTT.
Health insurance / provision and repatriation ( 100% support )
