SUMMARY OF L’OFFRE

Under the responsibility of the regional head of the voluntary cooperation programme, the cooperating person will carry out his mandate with the’partner organization in order to ensure the implementation of’individual and organizational capacity-building activities within the framework of the voluntary cooperation program. The volunteer advisor will be required to advise, assist and technically support the’partner organization team in their reflections and work surrounding organizational management. The person holding the position also contributes to the development of communication renderings and’s related to the activities developed and implemented during his mandate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the capacity building of the’partner organisation in the field of’ development of organisational strategies and project management tools;
  • Provide technical and methodological support to the partner’ organization in the development and updating of gender-sensitive institutional policies and protocols;
  • Support the strengthening of the’partner organization in terms of’organization of work, management of’information, communications among other activities related to its expertise;
  • Support the partner for the development, revision and/or monitoring of the strategic plan, as well as its dissemination;
  • Develop and conduct training workshops on organizational dynamics and management;
  • Contribute to the development of’ planning, monitoring and evaluation tools for activities, programmes and models designed for the’partner organisation;
  • Support the development of’ everyday project management tools;
  • Support the organization in activities related to the social laboratory;
  • Participate in the initial mapping of the actors and in the updating of the profile of the protection system of the’child of the country of’intervention;
  • Support the organization in activities related to the social laboratory ;
  • Write progress reports on the activities put in place in collaboration with the partner’organisation;
  • Write articles on the work carried out and on the’experience of voluntary cooperation;

*Responsibilities are given as an example and may differ from the elaborate mandate that will be offered to the candidate person. All mandates are developed with partners on the basis of expressed needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

Requirements

  • Have permanent residence or Canadian nationality ;
  • Hold a university degree in project management or any other related fields;
  • Minimum of 2 years of significant work experience in project management, strategic planning or development and organizational management functions;
  • Master of French both written and spoken. The person must be able to write, revise, comment and correct texts in French and, for mandates in Central and South America, a master’s degree in Spanish, both written and spoken;
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training, and provide recommendations;
  • Ability of’analysis,’organization and synthesis;
  • Mastery of new technologies of’information;
  • Great capacity for teamwork while being autonomous in his work;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and great capacities of’adaptation;

Assets

  • Hold a specialization or master’s degree;
  • Knowledge and interest in the rights of the child, with a focus on the child protection system and’ access to justice for minors;
  • Experience working abroad;
  • Experience of voluntary cooperation
  • Knowledge of the principles of’equality between women and men;
  • Knowledge of results-based management and of the’ approach based on the human rights;
  • Knowledge of international development issues;
  • Knowledge of security measures in international cooperation.
