SUMMARY OF L’OFFRE

Under the responsibility of the regional head of the PCV, the cooperating person will carry out his mandate with the’partner organization in order to ensure the implementation of’individual and organizational capacity-building activities within the framework of the voluntary cooperation program. The volunteer advisor[era] will be required to advise, assist and technically support the’partner organization team in their reflections and work surrounding monitoring,’evaluation and’apprenticeship. The person holding the position also contributes to the development of communication renderings and’s related to the activities developed and implemented during his mandate.

RESPONSIBILITIES* :

  • Ensure the implementation of the activities of the PCV programme and the establishment of relations of trust with the’partner organisation;
  • Accompany the members of the’partner organisation in the establishment and/or revision of tools and methods for institutional monitoring, evaluation and learning;
  • Identify with the persons responsible for the’organisation the targets and key performance indicators for relevant projects, programmes or services;
  • To equip members of the’partner organisation to evaluate targets and performance indicators;
  • Train and support the members of the’organisation in the processes and methodologies of monitoring, evaluation and learning in relation to their respective department or sector;
  • Support the organization in activities related to the Social Laboratory;
  • Participate in the initial mapping of the actors and in the updating of the profile of the protection system of the’child of the country of’intervention;
  • Write progress reports on the activities put in place in collaboration with the partner’organisation;
  • Write articles on the work carried out and on the’experience of voluntary cooperation;

*The responsibilities are given as’example and may differ from the elaborated mandate that will be proposed to the candidate. All mandates are developed with partners on the basis of expressed needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Have Canadian residency or nationality.
  • Hold a degree in’ undergraduate university studies in monitoring, evaluation or other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 2 years of’ significant work experiences in functions related to monitoring, evaluation and learning ;
  • In-depth knowledge of results-based management; and;
  • Mastery of French both written and spoken. The person will have to be able to write, review, comment and correct texts in French.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training, and provide recommendations;
  • Ability of’analysis,’organization and synthesis;
  • Mastery of new technologies of’information;
  • Great capacity for teamwork while being autonomous in his work;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of security measures in international cooperation;
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and great capacities of’adaptation;
  • Knowledge of international development issues;

Assets :

  • Hold a specialization or master’s degree;
  • Knowledge of child rights, with a focus on the child protection system and’access to justice for minors;
  • Experience working abroad;
  • Experience of voluntary cooperation
  • Knowledge of the principles of’equality between women and men;
  • Knowledge of the’ approach based on human rights;
  • Knowledge of international development issues;
  • Knowledge of security measures in international cooperation.
