About: Action against Hunger
Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has founded its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies linked to conflict and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
The internship, led by ACF-France (WASH and MEAL Services) in partnership with Solidarités Internationale and OXFAM, has two main objectives:
A) Improve and standardize ACF France’s AQA WASH practices in compliance with the standards of the global WASH cluster.
B) Support Initiative 3 (AQA) of the WASH Roadmap.
Mission 1: Assistance to country offices and other technical sectors of ACF-France
– Carrying out an inventory of quality control and AQA, in collaboration with the MEAL service of ACF-France, based on the table synoptic and preliminary work with RTOS.
-Exchange with ACF-Venezuela to draw recommendations and good practices from their AQA leadership at national level in initiative 3.
-Development of an AQA kit based on existing tools from the WASH sector, in conjunction with the WASH Capitalization course and Kits, intended to serve as a pilot project for other ACF technical sectors.
Support for WASH RTOs in accessing and sharing these resources.
Mission 2: Support for the AQA initiative.
-Contribution to updating, disseminating and sharing the strategy, the list of contributors, AQA training, the Tufts 2023 review on AQA WASH, recommendations from AQA workshops, new standards and indicators , and monitoring progress in the pilot countries, in coordination with the WRM secretariat under the aegis of SI and Oxfam.
-Participation and contribution to WRM Initiative 3 meetings in 2024.
Profile :
We are ideally looking for a candidate with a master’s or engineering degree, ideally in the field of development and preferably with experience in the water sector, demonstrating strong analytical skills. Fluency in French and English is required.
Terms of employment
-Mandatory Internship Agreement:
You must have an internship agreement issued by a French educational establishment. This is the basic rule for joining our awesome team!
– Duration of the Internship: 6 months
– Location: Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis)
– Salary Conditions:
Internship paid according to the legal minimum hourly rate (based on 35 hours per week).
21 days of RTT (adapted to your time spent in the organization).
Days of absence for exams, university research, etc.
50% coverage of the home-work transport package.

Come to the association’s headquarters 4 days a month, and the rest of the time, it’s up to you!
Participates in our group meetings and events for 3 days per month on average.
For the first 6 weeks, you will be present at headquarters 2 days a week to integrate into the team.
