About: Action Against Hunger
Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been the basis of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, in particular during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Safety and Ways of Existence – Water, Health, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
The Health and Nutrition Program Manager will establish and manage a nutrition and health program, integrating WASH and mental health care practices components ( MHCP ) for populations affected by the crisis in the southwest region, Cameroon.
Under the supervision of the field coordinator, you will be responsible for the following missions:
Establishment and supervisor activities in the framework of nutrition projects.
Organize staff development programs for the AAH teams.
Train and manage the program teams; organize and lead general and individual meetings with the team on both a regular and ad hoc basis,…
Develop and direct operations in the Health / Nutrition sector for the area.
Contribute to proposals for new activities in his / her area.
Representative AAH and develop local partnerships.
Profile :
You hold a background in health (medical doctor, nurse).
Others backgrounds might be considered but then a strong public health /Nutrition knowledge and constant training on health matters needs to be provided.
Managerial competences and solid experiences are mandated.
An experience in WASH projects and in hard to reach areas would be an asset.
You have a good knowledge in the implementation of the minimum package of activities in health centres or in direct implementation via mobile clinics.
You have excellent interpersonal and representation skills.
Employment conditions
2 months contract under French legislation
Monthly gross salary from 2130 euros to 2475 euros upon experience
Per diem and living allowance: 583 Euros net, field paid
Monthly country allowance: 450 Euros
16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen
Child allowance, 1500 euros / year / child ( capped to 6000 euros )
Coverage of transport costs to and in the mission100% coverage of health contributions ( social security + private insurance ) and repatriation insurance
25 days of paid leaves per year
20 RnR per year. + 215 euros at each RnR period
