About: Action Against Hunger
Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been the basis of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, in particular during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Safety and Ways of Existence – Water, Health, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
Your mission will be to ensure the management of technical experts, and provide your support to the Project Manager while ensuring technical and regional coherence as well as learning interventions on the strengthening aspects of the RESILAC program actors.
Your main tasks will be :
Participate in the overall management, donor accountability (reporting) and implementation and revision of the programmatic strategy while ensuring the territorial approach (inter-pillar) of the program.
Manage the program team according to the defined links.
Contribute to strategic orientations, coherence of approaches and follow their implementation in countries and at regional level.
Ensure the quality and accountability of the program (to populations and donors).
Ensure, in its regional and cross-border dimension, the establishment and animation of a learning and sharing framework within the project.
Contribute to advocacy of influence and coordination with other actors.
Profile :
You have a higher education (BAC+5) in the fields of humanitarian or development project management, social sciences or any other field relevant to the project ;
You have international professional experience of 3 to 5 years in positions of coordination with development projects or nexus projects ;
You have experience in large-scale project management in Consortium, multi-country and/or multi-dimensional ;
You claim to have a successful experience in strengthening actors, monitoring partnerships ;
Your knowledge of the stakes of partnership, localization, reinforcement of the actors is fine and advanced;
You have an excellent capacity for analysis, synthesis and writing, prone to writing work ;
You have an excellent ability to listen, communicate and negotiate – a sense of diplomacy and consensus ;
You are fluent in English and French, both written and oral – these are both working languages.
Knowledge of at least one of the countries around the Lake Chad Basin would be appreciated.
Travel in difficult conditions (discomfort, insecurity etc.) will be expected.
Employment conditions
This position is open to both Chadian and international workers.The content of the salary package varies according to this element.
For an employee of Chadian nationality :
24 Months of fixed-term contract for the use of Chadian law
Basic monthly salary: from 1 606 888 to 1 948 753 FCFA depending on the experience
For an international worker :
24 Months of fixed-term contract in French law
Gross monthly salary of entry from 2899 to 3376euros depending on experience
