The ILO internship program provides talented individuals with the opportunity to:

a ) better understand relevant issues at the international level, by participating directly in the work of the Office and in the application of ILO principles, programs and strategies;

b ) gain practical experience in the ILO directly related to their field of study.

The internship program is not intended to open up career prospects in the ILO, nor should there be any prospects of employment after completion of the internship.

The International Labor Organization ( ILO ) is dedicated to promoting internationally recognized social justice, human and labor rights, pursuing its founding mission: social justice is essential for universal and permanent peace.

In the framework of its work program, the ILO Country Office for Argentina addresses the following topics: employment and vocational training policies, fair transition to a green economy, care economy, transition from the informal economy to the formal economy, non-discrimination, safety and health at work, harassment and violence in the world of work, unacceptable forms of work ( in particular, child labor and forced labor ), labor inspection, strengthening of employers ‘and workers’ organizations and promoting social dialogue.

Under the supervision of the person in charge of the programming area, the person who carries out this internship must fulfill the following tasks: 1. Provide support to the programming unit in its intervention and follow-up on administrative processes. 2. Collect information from the office, as well as records and reports. 3. Prepare reports on program and project activities. 4. Organize data and information and prepare and maintain records, documents and control systems to control and evaluate the execution of projects and programs. 5. Prepare Excel tables and graphs on the execution of funds. 6. Collaborate in the preparation of reports, project documents and shipments to governments. 7. Based on the strategic priorities of the office, collaborate in the identification of potential international cooperation alliances or local strategic actors. 8. Collaborate in updating the database of reference organizations and actors in issues that the office works on. 9. Participate in the writing of projects and other activities related to programs. 10. Profile required

  •  Good knowledge of how to prepare reports and collect information from different media.
  •  Excellent knowledge of the use of Excel and other computer tools.
  •  Ability to interrelate, communicate and collaborate in an international and multicultural work environment.
  •  Ability to work on your own initiative and as a member of a team.
  •  Previous knowledge about international organizations will be valued, as well as the use of terminology related to the world of work.

Education

Have a degree in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations or related areas. Be in the last year of a postgraduate degree or have completed it the year before applying for the internship.

Languages

  •  Impeccable command of the Spanish language. Very good knowledge and management of the English, oral and written language.

Skills

Competences that you will be able to acquire during the internship: ⁇ Knowledge of the Organization’s mandate and program of activities; ⁇ Knowledge and practice of programming within a United Nations agency. ⁇ Knowledge of the projects carried out in the ILO. ⁇ Knowledge and management of the sources of information and documents of the Organization.

Additional Information

Hours and place of work

Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Av. Córdoba 950, 13th floor, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hybrid modality, with teleworking for three days ( including Fridays ) and face-to-face work for two days a week, to be organized between Monday and Thursday.

Internship duration

Three months, with the possibility of renewal for another three.

Selection process:

Stipend:

As an intern in a field office, you will receive a monthly stipend from the ILO that corresponds to the cost of living at the duty station, unless you receive funding through another institution ( for example, your university or a foundation ). If you receive partial funds, the ILO will cover the difference to ensure that you receive the appropriate stipend each month. Your trip to the destination will be at your own expense.

Please note that the ILO does not assume any responsibility for expenses incurred during your internship due to accident and / or illness. You will need to take out a personal accident and sickness insurance policy that is valid for the duration of your internship ( either at the Geneva headquarters or in a field office ).
