PBI Colombia opens the call for COORDINATOR OF VISIBILIZATION (Incidence and communication) OF PBI COLOMBIA

POSITION DECRIPTION
The Visibility Coordinator (hereinafter COVIS) is part of the visibility area in the organization and Coordination of the COP and must perform the corresponding functions.

The responsibilities of the position are divided into the following categories:

Incidence Coordination:

  • Coordinate the national advocacy strategy with its activities, initiatives and corresponding events (Colombian Government, diplomatic corps, international organizations, coordination of visits and delegations, etc.)
  • Represent the Project in diverse advocacy spaces.
  • Follow up on national and international platforms where PBI participates as observers.
  • Coordination of the strategy with the Representatives in Europe and the Americas on issues of international advocacy and maintaining frequent and permanent contact with it.
  • Provision of information on incidence to different parts of the Project through Reports (Fundraising, Training, Terrain Equipment, etc.).
  • Coordinate analysis and policy-making activities, and ensure consistency of Project discourses.
  • Writing and editing of public and non-public documents for advocacy work
  • Coordinate the preparation of communication to other OINGs, NGOs, and state entities.

Internal coordination:

  • Monitor the regional, national and international situation, guaranteeing discursive and strategic coherence of the project against the Colombian context.
  • Periodically attend the expanded CIBO space (comprehensive analysis and coordination meeting at the COP).
  • Participate in advocacy and security meetings with other instances of international GDP.
  • Assume initial visibility and advocacy training for new volunteers and comply
    with continuous training in the project.
  • Contribute to ensure training with teams, giving constructive and understandable contributions, prepared with a training approach.
  • Participation in the elaboration and revision of the POP strategies.
  • Participation in working groups and internal committees of PBI Colombia.

Security and Protection:

  • Rotation to assume the Guard, that is, being reachable to respond to emergencies of the teams and the rest of the Project, even during weekends and holidays.
  • Follow-up to national strategies and security issues that concern the project.
  • Coordinate the Security Working Group.
  • Contribute to activities with accompanied organizations in the field of protection and self-protection.

Communications / Visibility:

  • Convene and participate in the meetings of the Visibility Committee, contributing to the analysis of publication needs for advocacy.
  • Coordinate the elaboration of the advocacy and communication tools of the project.
  • Support in the review of incidence and protection documents prepared by the field teams.
  • Participation in the preparation and review of communication strategies and visibility of PBI-Colombia.

PROFILE OF THE COORDINATOR OF VISIBILIZATION (Incidence and Communication) of PBI-Colombia

Basic requirements:

  • It will be strongly valued to have previous experience in a PBI entity and preferably in the COP, in functions of similar responsibility.
  • Studies and training relevant to the position. Having graduate level studies is highly valued.
  • Minimum four years of practical experience in issues of political advocacy and publications.
  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy in Colombia with different interlocutors.
  • Availability and experience to work by consensus and in a horizontal structure.
  • High degree of responsibility and commitment to the principles and mandate of PBI Colombia and to accompanied organizations and communities.
  • High capacity for investigation, analysis and understanding of the Colombian political situation and on the human rights situation.
  • Demonstrated experience in political advocacy in Colombia with different state and non-state interlocutors.
  • Excellent level of Spanish language. Excellent skills and proven writing experience
    in Spanish. High level of English language (written and spoken).
  • Capacities for the coordination of work teams.
  • Communication capacity with people of different nationalities.
  • Ability to take initiatives and be purposeful.
  • Ability to manage stress and work under pressure.
  • Relationship and work capacity in a multicultural context.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of GDP work outside of Colombia.
  • Knowledge of the work carried out by the Visibility Area in PBI-Colombia
  • Incidence experience outside Colombia
  • Training / experience in a gender and decolonial perspective.
  • Knowledge of public protection and prevention policies in Colombia and / or in other countries
