COOPI Cooperazione Internazionale is an Italian secular and independent humanitarian organization that fights against all forms of poverty to improve the world. Founded in 1965, today COOPI is present in 33 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East, with both emergency and development projects carried out by expatriate personnel – an average of more than 270 people a year – and national personnel. The main institutional funders are the European Union – ECHO and INTPA – USAID, UN agencies, the Italian Government, local authorities and other European governments.

Description of COOPI in Venezuela

Since 2019 COOPI establishes a presence in Venezuela to assist the local population after the worsening of the country’s socioeconomic crisis. Starting in July 2020, a regional crisis response program begins, which is implemented in consortium with Venezuelan organizations for the protection of vulnerable groups. In these years COOPI has applied its interventions and is currently executing projects with different donors in Caracas, Lara, Carabobo, Anzoátegui, Sucre, Delta Amacuro and Bolivar in protection (GBV, Child Protection, Trafficking and trafficking in persons), reproductive sexual health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and school feeding.

Objective / job description

COOPI plans to strengthen the project team by hiring Veinte ( 20 ) Listers, in charge of lifting and ensuring the quality of the data collection exercises, within the framework of the World Food Program and of the intervention of COOPI in Venezuela, Sucre state, in accordance with the objectives of the COOPI organization, of the obligations with the donor, and national regulations in the areas of intervention. The enumerators will be organized into 5 teams of 8 people and led by one / one leader / that. The enumerators will be in charge of updating the beneficiary registry, conducting the results survey and various collection activities established by WFP.

Areas of responsibility

  • Implement data collection activities, according to the guidelines defined by Coopi and donor in the project intervention areas.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data collected in the field;
  • Actively contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives established by WFP and COOPI regarding the number of surveys to be carried out and visits to schools, covering beneficiary records and updating of records, surveys on food security indicators and other information gathering activities, in accordance with WFP guidelines, technical standards and quality standards;
  • Ensure that data obtained in the field is accurately uploaded to the WFP corporate platform;
  • Manage corporate WFP tools efficiently during the implementation of data collection exercises;
  • Identify and communicate in a timely manner any technical or operational problem that may arise during the survey process and propose solutions to manage it, in coordination with the monitoring coordinator and the enumerator team with their leader;
  • Properly supervise the management of the technological equipment provided by WFP for conducting surveys;
  • Comply with corporate WFP standards when it comes to beneficiary data protection.

Desired profile

ESSENTIAL

  • Students and / or university interns motivated by the development of technical and social skills;
  • Previous experience in data collection and digitization;
  • Competence in the use of interview techniques;
  • Willingness and interest in participating in the training processes offered by WFP;
  • Ability to work autonomously in complex environments and under pressure, meeting established deadlines;
  • Understanding and respecting the principle of confidentiality in relation to the information shared by participants and beneficiaries;
  • Empathy and communication skills;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to face the various conditions and dynamics of work in the field;
  • Respect for COOPI’s vision and mission, its charter of values and humanitarian principles;
  • Essential advanced spoken and written Spanish language;
  • Management of computer tools ( Microsoft Windows operating system ) and office automation ( Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook );
  • Immediate availability.

DESABLE

  • Knowledge of mobile data collection tools like Kobo;
  • Languages: highly valued English;
  • Venezuelan nationality or residence permit in the country.
