Technical Post for the Protection of Children in Emergencies- International Prog At Save the Children – Spain


FUNCTIONS

  1. Ensure quality standards, integration and approaches to child protection and children’s rights in the different interventions; strengthening and / or training teams, collaborators and personnel in the field and headquarters.
  2. Advise on the diagnosis and design of an integrated protection response in the SCE / SCI emergency response, both from headquarters and in the field, in line with SC standards, the principle of Centrality of protection and other inter-agency, ensuring viability, technical quality and donor regulations.
  3. Contribute to the systemic and structured use of integrated protection programming in the SCE / SCI emergency response, traveling to terrain if necessary to join SC’s response teams.
  4. Contribute to the design of activations under an integrated response approach in coordination with SC country offices and regional offices, consistent with the proposed agreement matrix, ensuring a multi-sector response focused on vulnerable groups
  5. Under the leadership of the program quality unit, participate in the SCI thematic working groups and contribute to the SCE Learning Agenda, developing tools and methodology for collecting evidence
  6. Contribute to capacity building for integrated programming that ensures the Do No Harm approach and contributes to the centrality of protection, including the development of materials and training at headquarters level, country or region.

Any other function according to its category that is entrusted to it by its manager.

REQUIRED TRAINING

  • University Degree. Postgraduate degree in Humanitarian Action and Development Cooperation.
  • Knowledge of child protection and children’s rights (integrated programming, case management, psychosocial support, boys and girls in mobility);
  • Use of tools at a professional level: Ofimáticas – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access…
  • IMPRESCINDIBLE command of the following languages: Spanish, English and French.

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in emergency response in intervention countries.
  • Field experience in child protection in emergency contexts, integrated programming, and / or case management of violence against girls and boys;
  • Experience in design, preparation and review of procedures, guides and materials;

valuable gender knowledge in humanitarian action and sexual and gender violence.
