ABOUT THE CHAIN OF L’ESPAIR

The’Espoir Chain is an international NGO founded in 1994. Its purpose is to strengthen health systems to give everyone, and in particular children, the same opportunities for survival and development. We operate in 28 countries through a global approach, focusing on the’child but also on mothers and disadvantaged communities :

Prevention and screening from an early age, especially in the context of health programs at’school.
Care and surgery to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.
Training and transfer of skills to local teams through our international network of’experts in all areas of surgery.
Construction and equipment of hospital structures adapted to local needs.

The trainee’s work, apart from the tasks predefined in the profile, consists above all in a support role on the ad hoc requests of the headquarters or the field.

The trainee is led, according to his skills, to participate in a more or less extensive way in different transversal subjects related to the implementation of the actions of The Chain of the’Hope.

POST AND MISSION

Under the supervision of’a Program Coordinator, the trainee will have the following missions:

A – ASSIST IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS AND THE MONITORING OF THE PROJECTS

Administrative and monitoring tasks:

  • Mail preparation
  • Preparation of synthesis notes
  • Drafting of meeting minutes
  • Preparation and signing of documents
  • Documentary research on specific topics

Communication:

  • Drafting of project files for the annual report
  • Writing’articles for internal and external communication.
  • Creation and update of’communication tools: brochures
  • Internal communication between the different departments
  • Translation of documents from french to’anglais.

B – SUPPORT IN THE PILOTING OF PROJECTS

Support for project management :

  • Participation in the’ development of terms of reference and project proposals
  • Participation in the review of project proposals and the drafting of interim and final reports in coordination with the/the funding manager
  • Contribution to the implementation of’monitoring and’evaluation tools for projects
  • Participation in the development of project activities

Administrative, financial and logistical follow-up of missions :

  • Development of various letters to partners
  • Preparation of various documents (partnership agreements and/or cooperation agreements in particular)
  • Preparation of missions :, logistics (visas,’avion tickets, housing, etc.) in connection with the purchase/logistics service, support for the collection of administrative documents to constitute the file of volunteers
  • Support in the preparation of financial and technical audits of projects.

Drafting and capitalization (Programmes Directorate) :

  • Consolidation of experiences and development of standard documents allowing’learning and’improvement of actions
  • Consolidation of’monitoring and evaluation tools: fact sheets, database, questionnaires
  • Collection of indicators and improvement of monitoring methodology

PROFILE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

TRAINING /EXPERIENCE

Student in Master in International Relations Humanitarian, Development and Cooperation, Political Sciences and Institutes of’political Studies

A first experience, or knowledge, is expected in project management, at the headquarters or in particular in the’one of the countries of intervention of The Chain of the’Espoir.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Very good relationship, know how to work in a team and with multiple interlocutors
  • Oral and written mastery of’anglais
  • Adaptability, versatility and autonomy
  • Dynamism, reactivity, resistance to stress, ability to work on multiple files concomitantly, sense of’ humor
  • Ability of’excellent writing and editorial rigor in French and English, capacity of’analysis and synthesis
  • Proficiency in computer tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong motivation to work in the’humanitarian and knowledge of humanitarian actors and the’environment of international cooperation
  • Knowledge /interest in medical humanitarian actions is an asset.

CONDITIONS

  • Status : 6-month, full-time internship
  • Post Dates : September 2024
  • Location: Siege of’association, 56 rue des Morillons, Paris, 15th arrondissement
  • Gratification : 4.35 euros /hour (according to legal scale and on a 35h/week basis)
  • Tickets Meals d’a value of 10,83€ supported at 60%
  • Refund 50% transport subscription Ile-de-France
