Skills:

  •  Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or related field is preferred. Candidates with exceptional and outstanding qualifications but less than Master’s degree will also be considered.;
  •  Experience in at least one of the following thematic areas is required: (a) poverty and inequality, (b) labor markets, (c) economic and social inclusion of refugees, (d) social protection, (e) impact evaluation.;
  •  Experience supporting and coordinating operational activities, such as household surveys, focus groups, workshops with stakeholders, community consultations or dissemination events is a plus.;
  •  Excellent Reading, Writing and Spoken fluency in English.;
  •  Proficient in the use of STATA for data analysis.;

Task Description: Under the overall supervision of the Task Team Leaders, the Consultant will have the responsibility of supporting the program in terms of household data preparation and analysis and production of analytical inputs related to poverty and welfare. In the framework of the agreed tasks, the Consultant may be requested to travel on mission with the Team, or on behalf of the Team. More specifically, the Consultant will be:

  •  Contributing to the preparation of in-depth analysis for one or more countries in Kazakhstan CMU. This may include poverty mapping, poverty assessments, fiscal incidence analysis, migration, etc. The STC’s contribution includes data preparation, data analysis, and report writing.
  •  Helping the teams to respond in a timely manner to requests from counterparts and sectoral teams regarding household data analysis; this includes support to Poverty and Social Impact Analysis (PSIA) for Development Policy Operations (DPO), or similar ad hoc requests. The STC’s contribution includes data preparation, data analysis, and short writing.
