UNOPS has been working in Honduras since 2014. The main operating sectors in the country are specialized in the acquisition of medicines; medical equipment; ambulances and information technology equipment; institutional strengthening and sustainable infrastructure. In addition, UNOPS has provided technical assistance in financing development initiatives for infrastructure investment projects in the country. The Honduran Office is responsible for managing the strategic and operational risks associated with the portfolio of commitments, develop and deliver cost-effective services that contribute to the sustainable results of partners and achieve UNOPS management results.

In 2021, UNOPS signed a collaboration agreement with the IHSS for the acquisition of medicines and medical supplies, for which a project executing unit has been formed with management personnel, administrative and technical. This position will be inserted in this executing unit, which will also carry out the management of the IHSS project portfolio.
The purpose of this project is focused on guaranteeing access to safe, effective and reasonable medical medicines and supplies for the beneficiaries of the Honduran Social Security Institute ( IHSS ), promoting the right to health as the highest premise of public management in the country and of entities providing health services. Concomitantly, the project aims at the efficient use and management of resources destined to supply medicines and medical supplies for the IHSS, based on transparency and sustainability in procurement processes and institutional strengthening for the optimization of supply chains for these goods.
El/la Gerente Senior de Proyectos es responsable de las operaciones día a día de los proyectos, provee servicios a los diferentes donantes, socios y beneficiarios. El/la Gerente Senior de Proyectos actúa en nombre de la Junta de Proyecto para manejar el proyecto de manera continua durante la Etapa de Implementación. La responsabilidad principal del/la Gerente de Proyectos es asegurar que los resultados del Proyecto se entreguen dentro de las tolerancias especificadas del mismo en términos de tiempo, costo, calidad, alcance, riesgo y beneficios. Se espera que el/la Gerente de Proyecto cumpla con los objetivos de desempeño y entrega de la organización.
El/la Gerente Senior de Proyectos tiene la autoridad de asignar, de acuerdo con el Plan del Proyecto, paquetes de trabajo a los/las Líderes de Equipo y aprobar los entregables producidos por estos/as

Educación:
- Título Universitario Avanzado(Maestría/PHD) es requerido de preferencia en Administración, Finanzas, Economía, Adquisiciones, Cadena de Suministro, Gestión de Proyectos
- Un título universitario de primer nivel (Bachelor Degree) puede ser aceptado con dos años de experiencia relevantes, adicional a los requerido.
Certificaciones:
- Certificación en Gestión de Proyectos (PRINCE2, PMI, etc.) deseable
- Completar las capacitaciones de UNOPS en gestión de proyectos dentro de los 6 meses posteriores al inicio de funciones es un requerimiento para este puesto.
Experiencia:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management, including counterparty management and project human and financial resource management.
- Previous experience working in the management or implementation of similar projects is required.
- Experience in conducting data analysis, writing reports, and documents for both internal and counterparties.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Experience supervising teams.
It will be desirable or valued to contribute:
- Experience in health area projects is desirable.
- Relevant experience at UNOPS will be valued.
Language
- Spanish language proficiency required
- English is required at an intermediate level
